Bar Rio @ The Columba Hotel — Restaurant in Scotland

An amazing place, Great atmosphere! I visited bar Rio On a Friday night with the vision of the staff running around and causing havoc but no, everything in the bar seemed controlled and there was no point where I thought something was going wrong! I have noticed a lot of people complaining about bar Rio being Italian and it offering an Indian menu. I personally don’t think this is a problem because it’s great to have a variety of food because it means your not constricted to just normal stereotypical Italian food offerings! And the end of our amazing meal we were so stuffed with great food none of us were sure to get desert or not but we went for it anyway and it was a great decision because they offer impeccable deserts and they tasted and look incredible! I’m conclusion I really do the place it’s a lovely place to bring family, friends and others for a meal or even for a couple of drinks! Came here to have a soup and a panini. The place was quiet with around 6 other people in. Ordered, waited over 25 minutes. Eventually went up to the bar and asked if I could just pay for the 3 drinks because we were running out of time. The man and woman behind the bar were extremely rude. They said my food would be 2 more minutes and when I said no they said "you ordered it so you need to pay for it". When I reminded them I had not eaten the food, nor seen the food they huffed and puffed. There was excuses about a "large order" which a family put in (this consisted mostly of oven pizzas) which meant their chef could not cope with heating up bowls of soup and making a panini! Service and experience wasn’t horrible per se, but I would not return. Some sincere thoughts for improvement:

food portions were not good, very small for the price Three of our main dishes were wrong amd it took two attempts to correct so our whole meal experience was lengthy and delayed. They weren’t able to make any substitutions to the food we ordered, and also forgot ingredients that were included in the food when we payed for additional ingredients we had to wait forever for our bill. Servers were not familiar with the dishes they were serving and so when queried, they believed we had the right food
