Great friendly welcoming, all explained in detail for first timers. Great food, very tasty and satisfying. Went on Easter Sunday for lunch with my wife & our two teenagers before going to the cinema. Visited every counter, but never got stuffed & bloated, there was a constant flow of freshly prepared food. Great selection, China, India, Japan, Mexico, Uk, Italy & well, exactly a world banquet with a carvery to boot! Happy friendly staff, your plates are immediately cleared between every course/visit. Bottomless soft drinks are a plus. Left Happy & very satisfied. Will definitely visit once a month. Money well spent.

We recently dined at Hot Flame and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. Specifically, the lamb chop we ordered was served completely burnt, and the sushi was excessively salty. It was very disheartening to encounter such issues. While the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, mistakes like this are unacceptable and also some of staf were really rude and with no smile on their face which doesn't make you feel comfortable. Apart from these issues other meals were good especiallay teppanyaki prawns.I hope they pay more attention to some foods

We had a lunch time buffet at Hot Flames Livingston. When we arrived there was a queue outside and we managed to book a table whilst in the queue. We glad we did as priority is taken to people who have booked in advance. It was good to see that covid precaution were taken. You need to wear plastic gloves before taking a plate and getting some food. There a wide choice of food and with a few chefs available while counter to cook fresh food to order. The buffet price does not include drinks and children under the age of 10 are half price.

We eat here quite a bit but 26th April at 12:00 will be our last visit. We sat at table 19-20 and when seated I noticed there was party stuff setup on the tables close to us but didn’t think much of it as well it’s a kids party. About two plates in, the party quests arrived and normally in a restaurant for parties you would normally sit, eat etc. well this group decided it was more of a social club, they had a professional photographer taking pictures and the camera was directed at my own children. When I asked the photographer not to point it at my children I got a negative response from him. For the rest of our meal we struggled to get out our seats due to the large amount of people congregating around our table taking pictures and generally being quite loud. We left early and when I tried to tell the restaurant manager all he seemed concerned about was getting me to go to the photographer to delete any pictures of my kids, which I’d already done anyway. What we really needed was the restaurant to accept that this type of gathering probably wasn’t one in the right location of the restaurant and that two other people dining there were put out there way to accommodate this. The photographer could have even asked if it was ok to take pictures, just a bit of respect really. My kids don’t suffer from seizures but imagine if you had someone dining there that did and constant flashing of a camera set of a seizure.

Next time your having a 1st birthday party, choose an appropriate venue like a soft play.

Edit in response of reply from restaurant:

We were also celebrating my sons birthday and have no issue with any celebration, my issue was the consistent flashing of a camera, the guests were huddled around our table in a group making us feel uncomfortable.

Now I understand you think it should be me a paying customer who should point out this clear obnoxious behaviour, however I am sure most people would expect a restaurant who has more people patrolling the restaurant than barlinnie has guards to notice this and do something about it. The fact we left early still paid our full bill and did mention it whilst we left so that other people would not suffer this should be clear there was a problem.

Your reply has also strengthened the fact we will not return. So much lost business if Falkirk ever play Livingstone again that’s the sad bit here...

I been on 6/8/24 at 6pm i had worst experience ever in my life 100% avoid this restaurant 2 point I just mention you

  1. if your baby leave food they will come and tell you don’t take food if you need to leave two chicken pakora
  2. you only allowed to have 1 chop stick per person in my case between me, my mrs and 3 sons had only allowed one chop stick And after all this when I decided to leave they asked me to pay otherwise they will call police My friend who was my guest from England he doesn’t want any hassle he negotiated n then pay half when all of us couldn’t even finish our starter We didn’t have main course & deserts and we paid half price which is really unfair It’s very poor service rude and food was ok not great but you won’t find smile on any staff faces AVOID AVOID AVOID 100%

after reading your reply i added more

  1. you refused to give a single chop to me that's why I left because if I can't have food there why would I stay there, I felt insulted which I mentioned to you guys repeatedly and offered you guys to come and see my table how many chops we had. I ask you two times to give me chops and you told me comeback in 5 minutes then I send my son to get it you said to him you going to bring on table then you did not .
  2. you admitted we were having lamb chops which is starter I believe so, we have not even started a main course or desert so how come we had substantial amount of food. that's a lie
  3. It was staff or manager who ever he approached my friend and said if you cant finish food, don't take it, you could see I had over 10, under 10 boy and 1 baby under 3 plus my friend who was my guest he had 5 years 3 years and 1 year old kids if kids don't want to eat your chicken nuggets we cant force them to eat an extra 2 chicken nuggets and it was an extra two nuggets.
  4. About settling a bill, if this would be my restaurant I would apologize and offer free meal due to insulting behaviour with customers
  5. your reply to this review are all just stories your side I wrote what I felt and aware...

My fiance and I went here for the first time recently and were definitely underwhelmed.

As far as the prepared dishes go, all you can really expect is quality on par with over-salted below average takeaway for some items, and frozen supermarket food for others (especially the starters).

The only redeeming quality was the teppanyaki station, but given the small portion sizes and the amount of time it takes to receive your order, it's clearly designed in such a way as to discourage repeat orders.

Considering this, the dining experience is massively overpriced. The only way to get your money's worth is to consume an absolutely absurd and unhealthy amount of food, or roll the dice on the teppanyaki station with the hopes you can get a full meal after repeated visits.

Also, we were absolutely baffled as to way the sauce for the chicken Tikka Masala was the alarming shade of pink that it was.

And just to preempt the person from the business who responds to reviews they don't like, this isn't slander again the restaurant, it is an accurate representation of our experience. The quality of food needs to go up, or the prices need to come down.

Comment below added in response to owner's reply

I find your repeated use of the phrase "legal action" when responding to any reviews less than glowing to be concerning. This could be seen as an attempt to discourage customers from being honest in their reviews. We genuinely did not enjoy the food, and for the price being asked, expected higher quality. Quantity should not be seen as a substitute for quality...
