Very disappointed with Pizza Hut, Livingston. My wife and myself have been regulars at Pizza Hut over the years and my wife who is disabled, diabetic and suffers dementia and who will be 80 next year enjoys our time out together. We have never had a problem with ordering as the staff have always been prepared to take our order verbally and allow us to pay at the till when finished. Our local Pizza Hut is at the Almondvale shopping centre at Livingston, Scotland and about 2pm on Thursday, 11th September we were in the centre and as she felt she needed to eat, we called at the restaurant. The young man showed us to a table and I asked if he would take our order verbally. He said that we had to order via the app and if we scanned the QR code on the table top it would take us to the site where we could place our order. We did have some difficulty navigating the site, but he was very helpful. We eventually placed the order which was for something in the region of £38.99. We were then taken to our banks app to authorise the payment, which we did. It told us to then return to the Pizza Hut app, which we did. However it then requested all the credit card details we had already given. All this had taken about 15 minutes. We assumed that it was not working and I didn’t want to be double charged. My wife was desperately needing to eat due to her diabetes by this time. We waited about five minutes and I then spoke to the young man who had been so helpful and asked if our order had gone through. He checked, but there was no trace of it. At this point I said we would have to leave and eat elsewhere, which we did. I would just like to say that we will not be eating out at Pizza Hut again as it is obvious that it does not want custom from those who either do not have a modern mobile phone and who are unable to use it for purposes other than phoning or emailing etc. Just a warning to anyone who has difficulty using modern apps to order food, stay well clear of Pizza Hut. I will also have to wait for my bank statement to come through to check and see if I am out of pocket to the tune of £38.99. Also if you do not have a phone, don’t bother going to Livingston Pizza Hut. You will...
Read moreFirst of all, I would like to say how incredibly helpful the young server was who waited out table, their manners were lovely and they were very welcoming. A good start to our evening, myself and my partner have been here on a little getaway for just over a week so thought we would have a little date night tonight, however our night was quickly ruined by someone who I can only assume to have been the "manager" who didnt seem to manage a situation that had arisen very well at all. Very rude and obtuse and abusive toward their staff member making the atmosphere very un comfortable. Secondly, another family arrived and had just brought the entire evening down, loud and annoying, rude towards their server and didnt smell too pleasantly either, luckily our freshly made garlic bread was enough to mask them! Food was okay, the staff (apart from the "manager") was absolutely fantastic and the place was kept very clean, again thanks to the hard working server on duty. I would have rated more stars if I wasnt so shocked to have witnessed the horrible way which the staff are treated and the unpleasant table across from us. I hope others get to have a somewhat...
Read moreNot even close to what it used to be. I guess they are on their last legs, barely any locations left anywhere. I used to love it as a kid but it's not worth visiting anymore, for many reasons.
First things first would be the price, it is ridiculous to go from an 11" stuffed crust pizza to a 14" is an extra £13. £33 for one pizza. A joke!
The price is made worse by the fact you have to do it all yourself, sit on your phone at the table, which is very annoying and takes much longer than just giving a server your order. You have to get your own drinks, which are all sugar free and disgusting. Bring back a choice with sugar!
The place was pretty empty with skeleton staff. Not a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal.
I miss the old Pizza hut. I miss the black Peper and parmesan and chilli flakes. I miss the drinks with actual sugar in them. I miss being served and catered for and not having to use my phone to order. I miss not needing to remortgage to buy a couple of pizzas.
That will be our last ever visit to a Pizza Hut, which is sad but unless they address a lot of these issues it's simply not worth it and not an...
