PizzaExpress — Restaurant in Scotland

As an ex pizza chef I am always so wary of pizza joints, esp chain restaurants but I had various vouchers and was over at the shops with my mum so thought ack why not ….we were not disappointed!

From the moment we walked in, and asked for a quiet table away from others, we were given excellent service in that we were lead to a table furthest away from people but still in the area that was ‘open’. The girl serving us was so polite and kind about the situation and had a lovely smile.

We had to ask about using the vouchers and the girl explained how to use them and how the app/ordering worked - again very helpful & with a smile.

Time to order - the girl again assisted and encouraged us to get our moneys worth again helpful & smiley

Food: pizza was banging!!! Slightly shy with the toppings but tasty all the same. The side salad was simple but effective. (We forgot pics) Then we got my free birthday treat! OMG! I’m not really a dessert person but this thing was just delightful - some kind of lemon & white chocolate roulade 👌🏼 What a love way to finish off!

Drinks were expensive, food would have been too if it wasn’t for the vouchers and tbh I probably wouldn’t pay full price purely because it is so overpriced but that’s obviously how/why they do the discount vouchers and you are allowed to use more than one at a time!

Overall it was a lovely meal - the girl serving was really nice, the food was decent and it was a good price - with vouchers!!

I popped on here on Friday (1/8) to eat with my hubby and son. I’m always a bit anxious as my hubby uses a motorized wheelchair and mobility aids to walk and it’s not always easy to find a place that has room for him to walk when needed but also somewhere for his wheelchair.

The restaurant was lovely and well set out, Delia showed us to a table with space for the wheelchair to sit nearby but out of the way of other customers. There was plenty of room for my hubby to walk with his stick and the staff were really helpful and accommodating.

The food was lovely. My son had the kids meal deal - he ate every bite which as a picky eater is unheard of. Delia came over and chatted to us to make sure we were ok, and paid attention to him and other customers in our vicinity - great customer service. The lady who served our pizza was also so sweet, I didn’t get her name but I mentioned it to Delia.

The pizzas were super tasty and so well made, base perfectly crispy and the toppings were perfection! The blue cheese dipping sauce was so yummy!

Dessert was fab! Sparkling, tasty and a great end to the meal. My son really enjoyed the babycinno with his dessert too.

The restaurant was friendly, lovely atmosphere, great music that wasn’t too loud so you could have a chat. It was clean, tidy and welcoming. The toilets were clean and nice to use.

All in all it was a lovely meal! I look forward to visiting again...

as a large group leaving only staff member to wait us, i think management really need to relelate. was offer option of 2 course plus a drink for special price but was told couldnt order a main and dessert even thpugh menu had desserts listed. was told by server they would do 3 courses for 15 pound which was a lovely thought. that was last time we saw that server. so order starters even though most of our group wasnt fussed about the options. wasnt asked if we need more drinks during our meals and appear to have only server left in restaurant. possibly as we were only guests in the restauarant on friday evening. so after main meals eaten we asked for menus again so we could choose desserts. server then explain that it would be from main menu not the special menu. so back and forward between us and server who then called said manager so agreed the meal in first place. 20 mins later still no clear understanding of what our options were to the point that most of party just wanted to leave as it spoil our evening. we all truly felt sorry for the server to have to deal with miscommunication and also serve 22 of us on herself. while chefs chatted away not obvious that actually server may have need some help. i have been a regular customer at this branch but def not be back again. shocking standards to leave one staff member on her own to serve 22 people for 2/3 courses. truly...
