I recently had the profound displeasure of dining at a Wetherspoons restaurant with my mum, and I must say it was an unforgettable and utterly catastrophic experience. While the staff provided average service, the food, particularly the burgers, left us with a lingering sense of regret and even made my mum feel sick later.
Let's address the elephant in the room: the abysmal excuse for a burger. It was truly the epitome of culinary failure. The patty itself was an insult to the concept of meat, devoid of any flavor or succulence. It was akin to chewing on a piece of flavorless cardboard, leaving me utterly dismayed. Even the most budget frozen burger from a supermarket would have been a gourmet masterpiece in comparison.
To add insult to injury, the size of the burger was laughable. It was scarcely larger than a mere slider, leaving us both feeling deceived and famished. How Wetherspoons managed to transform a quintessential dish like a burger into such a pitiful portion is beyond comprehension. It was an outright disappointment.
Now, let's delve into the tasteāor lack thereof. The burger had a rubbery texture that was both unappetizing and inexplicably hard to swallow. Each bite was a grim reminder of the dire mistake we had made in choosing this establishment for our meal. The flavors were nonexistent, rendering the entire experience akin to chewing on tasteless gristle. It was an assault on our taste buds, and the repercussions lingered long after we left the premises.
But wait, there's more. The burger came adorned with a slice of cheese that appeared to have been carelessly slapped onto the patty. Not only was it cold and unappetizingly unmelted, but it lacked any essence of flavor whatsoever. It seemed as though someone had taken a lifeless, factory-made cheese slice straight from the refrigerator and casually placed it atop the insipid patty. It was an egregious offense to the notion of a proper cheeseburger.
Regrettably, the aftermath of our dining experience was far from pleasant. Later that evening, my poor mum fell ill, experiencing discomfort and uneasiness. While we cannot say with absolute certainty that the burger was the sole culprit, it was undeniable that the entire meal left an adverse impact on her well-being. This added an extra layer of distress to an already disheartening experience.
In conclusion, I implore anyone contemplating a visit to Wetherspoons to steer clear of their burgers. They were unequivocally the worst burgers we have ever encountered, both in terms of taste and portion size. Save yourself the disappointment, and perhaps even potential health issues, by seeking out a more competent establishment that takes pride in serving appetizing and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThursday 14th August 6pm-7pm RE: Situatiom with Woman with Red hair and on duty manager (dark hair and beard).
Food cannot be faulted at all.
Our party ordered at the bar as usual then later our food was brought out by the women with red hair, her demeneour from start was off and her face spoke 1000 words that she did not want to be at work nor serve us, first impressions weren't great to start with...
A little after having our mains served, one of our party requested one of our sides to be brought over after we thought it was forgotten, we were then told it wasn't on the order, and our party member just replied stating the bar member mustn't of heard.
The red headed lady then went straight to her manager who came almost immediately to our table. We do not mind being confronted or approached however in the nature of this situation this seemed unnecessary, especially in the nature it was done.
The manager approached our table in almost what we could describe in a "want a fight?" type manner. Opening with "I heard that you are calling my staff deaf he states", we explain that what was said was taken our of context however his reaction and conversation continuing from here continued to be as if he wanted a negitive response from us, we kept shutting down the accusing comments and tone from the manager who continued to keep going negatively then eventually he walked off.
Again we are happy to be approached if any comments or behaviour was off on our part however for the very innocent and small statement given- an approach to our table by the manager in the manner in which he did was completely out of turn.
We understand the restaraunt isn't the Ritz or anything but service was massively lacking, this interaction lead us to eat almost in silence and felt shamed for something we didn't do wrong, ruining the overall experience.
Again the food cannot be faulted however this interaction has been upsetting enough for us to not want to return as having a manager approach our family in a manner as though he wanted a fight was totally out of hand for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointing š..I used to visit and get a lovely big oval plate FULL of decently cooked food but this is my 1st visit in a while for a meal and boy, we're we disappointed. Both meals were well overcooked - fish and chips and the other meal was a southern fried chicken wrap and chips..the chips were overcooked as well as the chicken from the wrap? The fish took the biscuit though, it was cooked within an inch of its life and there was hardly any fish left in the "batter" which was solid. It qas really shocking - there was a couple in front if us who sent theres back and got a whole new meal straight away but due to us having TRIED to eat it, i didnt think they would have done that for us.. We were taken aback and in shock at the state pf it but I wish I'd asked for our money back. They put us in a position and we ended up losing out but, it just means we will never go there again. Which is sad as I used to like it but, not if that's what food they are putting out. I'd actually appreciate if someone got in touch with me from the shop and offered us another meal - esp due 2 To the fact that we spent a fortune, besides the food, on alcohol, as I think we were hoping that would make the food...
