Paid £9 for a lamb shaslik naan kebab. To start, I was charged 5p for a plastic bag without even asking me if I want one (I only realized after looking at the receipt), and when given the food (which was strangely inside a pizza box) it was handed to me without a bag, and was given a strange look when demanded a bag. What's very strange is the fact that the government imposed bag charge covers only supermarkets, never seen a takeaway charge money for bags. When getting home and opening the box, I found quite a small portion of very dry pieces of lamb with some lettuce, on top of a huge naan bread. Although the flavour was nice, when I bit into it I almost lost my teeth because of how hard it was! The lamb has been clearly cooked in advance and only reheated once I ordered it! I should've figured that out, since it was given to me less than 5 mins after ordering. You can get a much better meal in Oban for this kind of money, better portions too. Complete tourist tip off! Will never return, only came here because the popular fish and chip shop nearby was closed due to it being the New Years day. From now on, whenever ordering takeaway I'll try the food first before leaving because if I had done so today I would've demanded a refund! Reviews don't lie, from my experience you can't usully expect much from a place that has a lower than 4 star average rating. And it this case, the worst thing is these people are simply not genuine. Taking advantage of the fact that they have very little competition in this small town. Never prioritize the speed of service over...
Read moreWe cane all the way from northwest of England and were a big family of 13 with kids etc . Starters cane after 1 hour and it was disgusting and undercooked .. after 90 mins curries came and had no naan with them and no plates to eat in .. by the time plates came the curries were pretty much cold as weren't warm in the beginning.. complaint for the naan bread and one curry being not cooked properly, the manager , who seemed like owner , kicked off badly with my husband and brother .. so we decided to get up and leave as kids were beyond hungry and vr upset .. staff were sooo rude and I'll mannered that they were shouting and swearing at us for complaining and nearly got physical with my husband and brother .. didn't showed any respect that there were young kids and women too .. very very disgusted with their behaviour and attitudes .. they don't run a five star restaurant as the food was beyond nasty !!! They need to be educated about taking criticism and accepting their mistakes and making it better for the customer , being rude and disrespectful towards customers will just shut their restaurant sooner or later and how they were, it won't last...
Read moreThis is the best food of its type in town. A very good selection of Asian foods, the special curry's and naan kebabs are particularly good. Their pizza's are just OK though, base probably too thick and cheese definitely not melty enough. If you leave it for a couple of minutes it goes kinda firm. That's just personal taste though. Also avoid the European dishes at all costs. Service is good. Staff are polite. Very expensive but then it's a treat to eat here not a nightly trip. The only real issue is that the curry's don't always taste the same. If i find one I like and order it again next month there is a good chance that it won't be the same as last time. This, to me, is a fundamental error. While the food does taste good, if the staff are not all following the same recipe for each dish are they just making it up? Not good enough. Overall this only takes one...
