The worst meal of my life. Do not believe positive reviews.

Do not go to this restaurant under any circumstances! Awful food and a really high price tag! Left us feeling awful.

We went to this restaurant because everywhere else in Portree was fully booked, not only was this the only place with space but it was also practically empty 🚩

The menus were crumpled paper in dirty plastic wallets. 🚩We should have left at that point.

The drinks were served in polystyrene cups. 🚩

Don’t expect your usual Chinese menu. We ordered the sweet and sour which was literally some dry chicken nuggets, a polystyrene bowl of sweet and sour sauce and some lukewarm rice. 🚩This cost just over £12! The rice kept me up worrying about food poisoning all night as it was definitely not fresh or reheated properly!! My partner had a beef noodle soup which was actually some noodles in coriander water and some cold sandwich beef on a side plate with a brown egg. 🚩This cost about £18!! I wish I had taken pictures but honestly I don’t want to remember this meal.

In terms of service, the food came out at different times and they even included a 10% service charge on the bill! 🚩

I have looked through some of the positive reviews for this place but they are clearly lies! The images for the 5* reviews are not in the same restaurant. The food they are eating is not on the menu. The standard of food elsewhere in Portree looked to be really high, the only way I can conceive that this place is still open is that people who have nowhere else to go wander in and pay their excessively high price tags like we unfortunately did.

I have never eaten anywhere so awful and paid so much for it! From what I saw on my way out, the kitchen looked dirty which only added to my worry about food poisoning. Not sure what their hygiene rating is and I don’t want to know after eating there.

Please take mine and all the other 1* reviews word for it and go...

We were walking by as none of the places were serving food anymore and we came across this place which we were excited to try as we love asian food. However, we were taken by surprise . I checked the reviews once we sat down and I really hoped it would not be a bad experience but it was not a good one at all. First, they said that better to take away as it will be less expensive as they would charge a 10 percent service tax if we sit down and have food. We insisted that it's okay as we wanted to sit down with a view upstairs. We ordered kungpao chicken with egg fried rice , veg fried rice and spring rolls (veg). The food was not good at first glance as the kung pao chicken was just namesake. No veggies in it and it was just chicken nuggets tossed in sweet chilli Thai sauce and some peanuts, with rice in the same sauce and traces of egg . To say the least it was very disappointing. When it came down to bill, by chance I recalled the price that I had seen on the menu downstairs and to my surprise they had billed one pound extra each on the main dishes.when I asked the front desk to check again, the other guy just comes in and is angrily tossing the two coins at us talking in another language. Also, service tax was charged for our bill total which we had paid for . But when we sat down on table we were told to fend for ourselves, the napkins and utensils . Overall I will not recommend this place...

Beware of fake 5 star reviews, some picture are from an entirely different location 🤣

Overpriced, tastless, and depressing. If all other restaurants in Portree are fully booked, you are better off getting takeaway food from the fish and chips shop or the Co op, both just around the corner. It'll taste miles better, and you'll save a load of money and regret. A meal deal from the Co op has way more going for it than food from this place.

I think the only way this business stays afloat is by being overpriced and relying on all other restaurants in Portree being fully booked or closed, which often happens in a place where the demand for eating out is way higher than what the town can supply.

I've seen some better reviews for this place, saying they are not sure why there are so many bad reviews. This is baffling to me, and maybe there was a different chef on those days because the food I had looked and tasted like the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Some of the reviews seem fake because the food and place are totally different. Don't ignore all the bad reviews.

However, i do hope the restaurant can improve how it runs so that customers are getting value for money in such a touristic place. I'd like the customers, owners, and staff to all benefit from some major...

I did not expect to go to the Isle of Skye and eat Chinese food, but needs must after getting soaked and hungry hiking Old Man of Storr and finding every other restaurant in town's kitchen closed already. The beef noodle soup was hot, filling and a little spicy, which was the perfect meal after the cold and damp of the hike. The kung pao chicken with egg fried rice my partner ordered was also enjoyable, essentially a sweet and sour dish masquerading with a name Westerners are more familiar with. The dishes are both heavy on the carb side so you could get away with ordering one and just adding another meat or veggie dish on the side. This wasn't the best Asian restaurant I've been to but certainly not the worst in Europe. Staff were helpful and quick. It is a bit on the expensive side but I'll chalk that up to the tourist town premium.

Visited No1 noodles & rice this evening with two of my mates whilst on a road trip to Skye. We decided to stop here for a quick evening meal. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable, the Skye gold beers were nice and cold and served in appropriate glassware. however unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down, it was clear that most dishes were from frozen as mentioned in previous reviews. Unfortunately this means the food was overpriced. Some improvements need to be made from a food aspect. I think the owners are aware of the improvements needed and the previous reviews as the do seem to be making a good effort.
