Tried to meet my husband tonight to get the train home together. They clearly had let too many people into watch the football and refused to let me in to let him know I had arrived. Apparently the manager told the poor girl at the entrance to refuse entry to anyone even though people were leaving. I couldn’t get my husband on the phone so had to wait until one of his friends came out for a cigarette to ask them to tell him I was here. Absolutely shocking behaviour. I wasn’t even going in for a drink but they refused point blank to let me go and find him. Even worse the manager left a young girl at the entrance to explain his ridiculous decision. Fair enough turn away people going in for a drink but to not allow me to let my husband know I was there was out of order. Perhaps if they hadn’t been so greedy through the day and allowed too many people in then they wouldn’t have had to turn people away. Disgusting behaviour and most certainly won’t be rushing back to give them my money. Perhaps if the manager did his own dirty work, he wouldn’t be so quick to make stupid decisions. I know see the manager’s response. You clearly have missed the point. I wasn’t going in for a drink, I was going into the pub to get my husband to go home and wasn’t allowed to so. Such a gentlemanly decision to leave a 58 year old woman hanging about outside in the hope that she could see someone her husband was with. Most pubs let people in as people leave. It seems strange that people were leaving and you still wouldn’t let people in! A man specifically asked if I could go in as he was leaving and was told no. Thankfully there are plenty more pubs in Glasgow so I won’t have to worry about you ever being the last one! Better places to go to in Glasgow with staff that don’t treat people like this!!customer service clearly not...
Read moreFood and service were disappointing on so many levels.
Came as a family with dog and you can only sit outside with a dog.
We ordered food for 4 of us and it took over 30 minutes (I would say 40 mins). The place was quite and not many eating so no reason for the delay. It was so quiet I could get a drink and was the only person waiting.
We had a sharing platter for £14 that is not worth that for what you get. I would avoid this again.
The kids had kids meals and the corn on the cob that was still frozen and no attempt to heat it. The pizza was okay and the chips were cold.
The burger was a double cheeseburger with bacon, I don't remember the bacon and it was tiny and poor quality.
Everything was cold.
This food must have sat waiting to be served to us for at least 15 minutes before it came as it's impossible to be that cold when cooked.
The chicken wing were rubbery and the chicken strips were very small.
To add the outdoor heater only worked on the tablets that we were occupied. While I normally accept this as first come etc they were occupied with a person on a laptop who was using the WiFi and not buying anything, they sat for the whole 90 mins a d bought nothing. 2 guys who came with their own food and drink in a bag and sat watching the football. Staff just left them to it even after I asked for help with the outdoor heaters and was told only the other tables were working.
Overall this was incredibly poor and I had to complain to get some of the cost back..
Definitely somewhere to avoid. If you want food it seems the only option is to bring your own..
The only plus was the very nice female bar tender when I was getting drinks. Made sure I got what I asked for at the best price as it's cheaper to add a dash of coke to a spirit when taking a...
Read moreI queued for 5-10 minutes in a busy bar for food. While waiting, a group of guys queued behind my friend and me and seemed to know this particular member of staff who then ignored us and served them first. Although annoyed, we ignored it.
When I eventually ordered after my friend with the same staff member, he asked for the table number. I wasn’t sure, so I pointed to our table just in front of the bar. He shook his head and said he needed the table number, then walked off. I went back to check the table number, queued another 7 minutes, and when I returned to the bar, the same staff member greeted me with, “Well… what do you want then?” His attitude was very rude, as if he had some problem with me, it was so strange. I took a moment to respond with my order as I was a bit shocked.
I gave him my order and calmly asked why he couldn’t have waited a few seconds while I checked the table number earlier. He shook his head and laughed, telling me to look at the bar. After this, he went over to his colleague, and they both glanced at me, shaking their heads and smirking. To be treated like that as a paying customer was uncalled for. Despite the food being decent and the atmosphere and building being nice, the bizarre and standoffish behaviour from the staff has put me off here and I cannot recommend this place to others. Why would anyone want to pay money to be treated like that? I’ve never encountered this from a member of hospitality staff anywhere, absolutely bizarre…it was like a visit to...
