A Hidden Gem for Pizza Lovers in Pottery I recently visited a charming pizza place in Pottery, and I was genuinely impressed! While it’s mainly a takeaway spot, they also have a lovely open space where you can sit, eat, and enjoy the natural surroundings—perfect for a relaxed and casual meal. We tried their vegetarian pizza with a thin crust, and it was absolutely delicious. The toppings included black olives, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, bell peppers, and possibly a few other fresh ingredients I can’t quite recall—but the combination worked beautifully. The crust was perfectly thin and crisp, letting the fresh, flavourful toppings shine through. The pizza really exceeded our expectations and left us wishing we had room to try more. Though we didn’t get to sample other items on the menu as we were already quite full, I can confidently say that this place is a must-visit for pizza lovers. If you’re in or around Pottery and craving a great slice in a peaceful setting, this spot won’t disappoint. Highly recommended!

Having eaten pizza from both of the highly rated places in Portree, I can honestly say that this one is the best. First, the toppings are much more generous and plentiful. WAY more! Second, the crust and pizza dough is much better. Appropriately browned on the stone, wonderfully crispy and yet perfectly foldable for that last bite of each slice. Thirdly, service. You can call in an order and it will be ready for you in 10 minutes or less, right in the middle of town rather than having to drive to the edge of town. Fourthly, they offer a gluten-free option as well as vegetarian options. And you could make up whatever vegetarian pizza you could imagine. Lastly, and not least, there are more flavor combinations available and also any combination you can imagine. Again, way more than the other guy. So don't let the lack of a reservation keep you from enjoying a great meal. Just make sure you get there before 7:30!

Pizzaway is a small take-away joint in Portree serving delicious stone baked pizzas, and a lifesaver on Sundays when most restaurants are either closed or fully booked and you are famished after a long hike. We got the following pizzas: 1. The Highland Meat Feast - comprising haggis, bacon, pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms on a tomato mozzarella base. 2 The Glasrach (Gaelic for “vegetarian”) - comprising artichoke, olives, sweet bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms on a tomato mozzarella base. Both were ready within 10 minutes of ordering, served fresh baked and piping hot, and tasted absolutely amazing even 15 minutes later when we had brought them back to our accommodation to eat.

I thought the pizza was okay, but have had a lot of pizzas I liked more and found the prize did not reflect the quality. It was ready very quickly though, and the toppings were plentiful, the dough just wasn‘t for me. The view from the little terrace is very nice.

I did not find the place to be very customer-oriented though. I wanted to exchange mushrooms for onion on a pizza, which is not a more expensive ingredient as far as I am aware, and was told that they generally do not do that - but can leave out the mushroom and charge me extra for the onion.

Whether you eat on the little terrace or take your pizza to go, the pizza comes in a take-away box - but the store only has a bin that says „no pizza boxes“, which I found a little bizarre in a pizza imbiss.

Consider that there is no toilet, only a sign that says to use the public toilets across the street. As they aren‘t technically a full restaurant, it seems they don‘t have to provide one.

Overall, I wouldn‘t come back if I had another option as the pizza wasn’t quite to my liking, and I found the policies bizarre, but if you‘re in a pinch and...
