Food tested and... again I ha e to admit: indian-type of food is defo not for me. However, if u do like such type of food, u would probably like it. Service is reasonably quick by the tables. However, they r far too 'excited' with waiting time when it comes about take-away: usual time is 10min but this 'message'doesn't change even when they r busy. U will always hear: 10 min. However, in busy time u will finish up with even additional 10 or 20min. People - be honest! When it is busy and tell the customers they they will need to wait 20 or 30min because it so busy. That is why i don't use their take-awsy service - I don't trust their sence of waiting time. I am not a fan of 'umpa-umpa' music and aspecialy when I eat, I would prefer calmer background music - it is not a party-time, it is dining time. However, as always - reviews are very personal opinions, so... go and check it...
Read moreAs a solo visitor to Lerwick on business, the Saffron was recommended to me, and it didn't disappoint! The food is first class! The best chicken balti I've tasted in years! The waiter looked at me as if he wanted me to elaborate! Filling the silence, I asked if I should just sit anywhere. He replied "No, no! We've got bookings" and looked harassed as he moved a single table away from a collection of other tables. Had this happened nearer home I would have turned on my heels and gone elsewhere. But I'm so glad I didn't! From that moment on everything was perfect. I would...
Read moreA pleasant, efficient South Asian restaurant with fast service, and a good selection of both meat and meatless menu items. The texture of the papadums was airier than I am accustomed to, but pleasantly crunchy with the familiar flavor I expected.
The Royal Anwaka and Pilau rice were of generous portions, blending nicely together with a rich, mild sauce, tender chicken, and vegetables. The house Cab was smooth and drinkable.
Reservations are probably a good idea during summertime.
I would definitely recommend stopping by for an...
