Updated review: I’ve now been to St Luke’s several times for drinks, food and gigs. The food is always great and the atmosphere is amazing, with good music choices. Well worth a visit - it’s got a great character. The Caesar salad and macaroni cheese are excellent choices. —————————————— I’ve been to St Luke’s a few times - The Winged Ox is usually busy and it’s got some interesting decor so there’s a nice atmosphere. Great place for dog-spotting! The food is decent but a bit overpriced - I paid £14 for 2 small baskets of sweet potato fries and small nachos. There’s a good selection of craft beers and spirits - my only moan would be that I think I was served a gin and soda water last night...however, it’s on me that I was too lazy to go back up and alert the staff! The Winged Ox is decent for a gig but you might struggle to see if you’re standing at the back. It can get quite messy with glasses and cups around, as the gig progresses. It’s a no frills place.

Nice setting, but beware the service. A group of 28 of us booked ahead of time and placed a food order 2 days before our booking at the request of the staff. Despite this notice, the food arrived two hours after we did. Countless times we were told it was “coming soon”, then told other tables had been given priority over us because two of our party hadn’t turned up and we cancelled their food. Changing the original order meant we were punished with a two hour wait. We did attempt to complain to staff about the wait, but we were met with steely resolve, rude language and tones, and an insistence that the delay was “our fault”. The food was average at best, and definitely not worth the wait. This may be a nice place to sit with a beer or wine and relax to some chilled music, but don’t even think about bringing a group of friends here if you’re hungry. And if you have a problem that requires communication with the staff, I apologise in advance.

Staff were really nice, we had booked ahead Live music which I usually hate but the guy had a nice voice and chose songs that added to the atmosphere rather than loud/distracting. Also had a really nice voice. Our server had a bandana on, didn't catch her name, apologies, but a very attentive girl. I got the loaded chips (I am so fussy but they were so so nice), the girls got burgers (one gluten free menu) and the other also got macaroni. All lovely, only thing of note was even though chios are on the gluten free menu they did say they are all cooked together so my friend couldn't have chips as she has high gluten intolerance. She got the salad (choice of two) instead. Really like the feel/decor theme. Pet and child friendly, lots of lovely dogs and the kids that were there were really well behaved. Would absolutely go again 4/5.

First time going here after being bought tickets from a family member to see ‘The Sherlocks’.

Was getting lost trying to find the place but would've been easier if I knew it was "just past the Barras on the right".

Security staff were the friendliest I've ever come across in a venue. Warm and welcoming.

Venue itself was smaller than I expected after seeing pictures online but it's fantastic. Sound was some of the best I've heard in Glasgow, spot on. Bars available at the back but cash only which was disappointing - no signage walking in like at the Barras. I nipped out to get cash from a nearby cash machine that a member of staff directed me to and was able to get back in easily afterwards due to our hands being stamped during entry and a wristband given after providing ID allowing you to buy alcohol, but I didn't know there was a proper bar right next to the main 'venue' room (accessible via the side next to the toilets) which took card and has a larger selection of drinks as long as you ask for a plastic cup (I didn't use this bar though). Some signposts would've been nice as this isn't obvious for a first-timer. Bar staff were really friendly and prices reasonable for a venue (£4 for a pint of Tennents, can't knock that).

The actual bar part is really cool, well decorated and had a great solo acoustic act playing. Food smelt great so would love to try it in the future. Nice walled patio beer garden/smoking area also.

Toilets were clean and of good standard.

Really enjoyed my visit and will be much more likely to buy tickets if a band I like are playing at this venue,...

Booked a table for 2 adults & 2 children. When we arrived we were given a table with quite high seating. My daughter didn’t want to sit there so we asked for another table. There were loads free but marked as ‘reserved’. We were then sat in a really small table for 4, hardly enough room for us all to eat and have drinks. The waitress explained that was all she had to offer, it was that or nothing else. So we tried to make it work, we were very hungry by this time 🙂. We ordered some starters - BBQ Pork belly which was a special, chicken wings & frickles. The pork came as 3 cubes and this was £10 bit overpriced for what was served , the chicken wings were not crispy which was disappointing, there were 4 of those for £6 (pricing from memory) The best of them all was the frickles. Crispy coated and delicious to eat with lots to share. We had burgers for mains and these were nice. The sweet potato fries were amazing! All the while we were sat eating our meal, the many tables which were ‘reserved’ remained free! Even as we left these tables were still empty. It would have been a better experience if we weren’t so cramped in a corner. I’ve been here before and everything was absolutely fab. Bringing my family this time I wanted to share the same experience and it didn’t. Such a shame as I don’t know if I would...

Went on a busy Sunday and didn't book

Arrived, family of 4. There were empty tables and a mix of reserved signs and some not. We got sat outside in a windy December at the far end. Perhaps since there was only 1 other table occupied we could have moved to the middle.

I got drinks at bar and still empty tables. No one came to get our order so I tried to order food at bar and was told I had to chase down a floor staff. Eventually I stood at the front door who said someone would come - they did.

Food was okay. A few items we ordered never came but also not charged for. We got one tiny ketchup between 4 people and I had to chase another floor staff to get more.

Every time I went t in for something the same tables were empty..

Had to follow up again to get kids food.

Then some customers came out being sick and smoking next to us. When I went to the toilet they were shouting loudly about cocaine and were openly taking it in the toilet - no door closed.

I had to chase again to pay. Not sure the staff really cared. But again an hour after we arrived and getting ready to leave the same tables inside were empty

Yes I didn't reserve a table but seeing a few empty ones for 90 minutes while we froze outside and had to chase staff for every bit of service I am not sure we will...
