The Carrickstone Park nearby and it is a very short walk to see a forgotten treasure. Carrickstone is a housing estate in Cumbernauld that sits atop a hill, but what many may not be aware of is where it gets its name from. Behind the houses are two objects that you’d never expect to find here, a Roman altar (The Carrick Stone) and a trig point. The Roman altar has a small fence around it but has been here for almost two thousand years. Legend has it that Robert the Bruce planted his standard in the hole in it, before The Battle of Bannockburn. The stone takes its name from him, the ‘Earl of Carrick', continue a short distance along the path to find a trig point, which must have been erected long before the houses appeared in the early 1990s. A nice little attraction to visit if you are in the area.

Order for 6 people, kids meal came out very dry like its been over heated. The spaghetti here in the pic was how it was served. Now do you think a child will eat this nope. What a waste of money. The staff at the bar was very rude when I asked a question about how the drinks can be served. Was even more shocked when she confirmed she was the manger. Looks like power went to her head thinking she can talk to customer like they are nothing. (Young girl with brown hair) I been to many wetherspoon and this is by far the worst. 6th August around 4ish

The food was good. The haddock and chips were spot on. Service from Alex was first class. Having been in several Wetherspoons up and down the country, this is by far the oddest. The service was, as I said, first class, but the outside area and the staircase did not have the lavishness of other Wetherspoons. The bull we found out was there because the Carrick Stone which has a lot of historical worth is situated near to a farm, hence a bull. Not sure if the local chap who told us that was pulling my leg or not.

It's Saturday you know food will take a little longer than normal, you accept that you sit and wait for the advised time to pass you then sit and wait for twice the advised time. Then stand at the queue in the bar to be told that yes things are running slightly behind but will be another ten minutes max. The food doesn't turn up in ten minutes not a further twenty either. In short from ordering through to delivery of stone cold food 1 hour 23 minutes. I've been the biggest fan of all things Weatherspoons related for years but this experience the lack of communication, apologies from staff even the lack of cutlery to eat with they had no knives on top of the wait and cold food has severely in my mind damaged my experience and perception of a great brand. Maybe they were having technical problems, maybe there were circumstances beyond their control. That's ok Weatherspoons please however communicate this rather than alienate your customers who sit all watching and waiting for cold, partial prefers to be delivered. ...

I visited with my daughter and grandchildren, we have been many times. On this occasion we were bitterly disappointed not only with the food but also the service of the young female staff member. She looked to be in her early 20s with long auburn hair, tied up in a pony tail. My grandson wanted a boneless basket, to which the staff member replied they don't do that anymore. My grandson then asked for nuggets, again we were told they don't do that either. She proceeded to say they haven't done these in a long time. My daughter asked why is it still on the menu then? The reply we got was very abrupt and disrectful. I understand that sometimes things happen outwith the control of the restaurant, however, if this has been like this for a long period then surely the menu should be updated to reflect this. Not a great image for a supposed family friendly establishment. On a side note, maybe a refresher course on customer service is in order. I would definitely not recommend this...

This is a monstrosity I was served what was meant to be macaroni cheese but when it was put in front of me I was shocked to see what looked like sick in a bowl it was a very pungent colour and not appetising at all. Since I paid for it I thought I should give it a bash, let me tell you that was a big mistake and I will regret it for the rest of my life. What most people would assume was a cheesy sauce which it was basically floating in was actually pure grease and it was rancid and put me off food for weeks. following my visit I also had very violent bowel movements and I felt like that grease sauce was sliding straight through me.

I cannot stress enough do not give this place the chance to put you off food for life as ill never get it out my head what was served to me that day I dropped in for a...
