Alikko's Turkish Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sefton

This is a newly opened restaurant in Bootle, Liverpool, we visited today for the first time but by no means the last time. RESTAURANT- amazing, large airy very open and accommodating stunning decor STAFF- Fabulous, great service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, above and beyond. FOOD - by far the best Turkish food I have had outside of Turkey. Authentically cooked on a charcoal grill, everything cooked fresh to order. We had Hot Meze platter with cacik, fresh bread, ribs and garlic bread with cheese, as starter then, the mixed grill for 3 people … (there were 4 of us and we still had a doggy bag) lovely traditional baklava for dessert, (and got some to take away too) Great Selection drinks and like I say… great service. It is a nice, small restaurant. Nicely decorated. Especially the horse head figurine at the bar piqued our interest a lot. Waiter who attened us was kind and checked us from time to time. We ordered a hot meze platter with two side cold mezes and chef's special for one to share. We specificly asked if the "sarma" was homemade or not. I think the waiter was instructed to tell its homemade but it sure did not look like that and did not taste like that as well. But that did not diminish the joy of delicious meat and hot mezes. Went for a girls night out. Lovely restaurant. Staff very friendly. Food was delicious. We had a Hot Meze Platter which had a great mix and plenty to share between 3. We then had mains Lamb Gouvec was amazing and the portion would have easily shared for 2. Chicken Fajitas (albeit not a Turkish dish) were also delicious with plenty of fixings to go with the chicken. Lamb Kebab again very tender and juicy served with salad and rice. All in all a good selection. Just a couple of cons. Background music was a bit too loud, we found it difficult to have conversation whilst dining.
