This was our very first visit to this restaurant whilst visiting Southport, and we were treated to both absolutely fantastic food from start to finish as well as wonderful, impeccable service from the waiter who looked after us. We pre-booked our table online to be certain of a table and received an e-mail confirmation in quick time as well. On arrival we were given a choice of table to sit at, and then we were given plenty of time to choose and select both drinks from a very varied menu at first, then plenty of time to choose all our food choices from starters, mains and desserts. At no time did we feel rushed in choosing our drinks or food choices. The food menu gives you a wide and varied selection of starters, mains as well as desserts to choose any taste, and everything is cooked to order and arrived in good time from start to finish so you don't feel rushed at any time. The food is superbly presented, well cooked, piping hot, and most importantly it was super delicious 😋 We both ordered a large glass of wine to kick off the night, followed by my starter of Deep Fried Calamari with a Garlic Mayonnaise dip, salad leaves drizzled with balsamic vinegar and a lemon wedge. My partner ordered Canneloni and Garlic Bread for the main course whilst I ordered Chicken breast with a Diane sauce + potatoes & vegetables of broccoli, peas & carrots. Dessert was Tiramisu for me and we both had a Brandy Coffee + amaretto buscuit, along with a small glass of Italian Lemoncillo each. This will go down as one of those memorable meals you will remember, and we will definitely visit again when we return to Southport...
Read moreFirst time, spare of the moment visit to this Italian restaurant in Southport. There were a few tables with customers (always a good sign) so we gave it a go.
We ordered from the main menu and both had lasagnas and we shared one garlic bread. It was very tasty. Piping hot and a fairly good sized portion for a woman but my partner could have managed a little bigger serving of lasagna, I saved him a little bit of mine. (Both our portions were the same size, the double plate pic makes his portion look smaller due to perspective) Apparently the daytime, two course deal has smaller portions, which I think would have been too small for a man or woman but the food was good overall.
The surroundings are modern and relatively tidy but upstairs, on the way to the loo, is lacking, I'm guessing it doesn't get used that often.
Toilets are clean but not wheelchair accessible. I couldn't see a downstairs toilet. The dining area downstairs is wheelchair accessible and there is seating outside.
The loo I used, moved away from the wall when in use, a bit of a shock on sitting, it really needs fixing.
The restaurant gradually got busier and the VERY busy waiter - serving, cleaning, pouring drinks, taking orders - all alone, (poor chap) was lovely and took some the time to chat with everyone.
Overall positive and we would dine...

On February 24, 2025, my partner and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Sapori Italian in Southport, and it was a truly incredible experience.
From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, and our host was exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
Their genuine enthusiasm and attentiveness made us feel right at home. What truly impressed us was the fantastic array of gluten-free options. As someone with dietary restrictions, dining out can sometimes be a challenge, but Sapori Italian completely surpassed our expectations.
The gluten-free spaghetti Bolognese and garlic bread were absolutely divine – bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Our host was very knowledgable about the gluten free options, and made us feel very comfortable.
The combination of the delicious food, the warm atmosphere, and the incredibly friendly service, especially from our host, made our evening at Sapori Italian truly memorable. We can't...
