Love it!!! Mr.Settle snr was my Dad's school friend and I spent many many happy days in the café i the 1970's with my dad, Mr. Settle's epic ice-cream milkshakes, a Dundee biscuit and the boxer dogs😘 The Settle in is relaxing with a great gin selection and plenty of seating in the fab Botanic gardens setting.

Shocking service and shocking prices for the portion sizes you get. Chips were not cooked throughout and were still raw potato in the middle. Paid £9.49 for 2 bottles of pop, plate of chips and a hot dog Will not be returning

We visited the ice cream place a few weeks ago. There were hardly any flavours left as it was a glorious sunny day which meant ice cream for a lot of people, but I had to repeat several times what I wanted because the lady could not understand I wanted two scoops of two different flavours on the two scoop cones I ordered. In typical British fashion, she first handled someone's money with bare hands, and with the same unwashed bare hands she handled my cones which we ended up giving to the dog as she didn't even bother to give us a napkin, as there were none and we didn't feel like eating God knows how many germs between money, urine, hair, headscratches and kids' disgusting dirty noses. She got a bit annoyed when I had two massive ice creams in my hand and I couldn't pay as both hands were engaged, luckily my partner came to the rescue. She touched the contacless machine and my debit card, and without washing her hands she straight went to serving the next couple, with dirty hands, no napkins and no flavours left. Ice cream was alright though! They could invest in cone holders for payments, some napkins to serve the cones with like they do in Italy, and some strict hygiene rules. Cones...

Well stocked bar with great prices Heini & Moretti always go down well. Love the free duke box really nice sitting outside with a great view and a nice cold drink. I have stopped in walking the dog or with young ones and always a nice welcoming atmosphere. If going in the evening a great place to start the night and carry on down the road calling in at the other bars an pubs along the way. I will become a regular here.

Since initial review I have become a regular due to stocking great beers and ale at good prices. Road crew a Motorhead endorced IPA has a fantastic flavour followed by wolf pack a red IPA. As well as the usual.

The atmosphere here is truly family run. Bring your dog, stay till whenever, speak with the staff and owners. You can really feel this business has been in the family...

Absolutely miserable service, went for the botanic fair and the atmosphere was awful due to one server in particular who shouted at everyone, staff and customers included. Made rude remarks about the prices of items, claiming she’d take the stock and sell it herself for more. Looked miserable and made everyone else feel miserable, said she wouldn’t serve anyone if the doors weren’t closed; however the door sticks and is difficult to open so it’s completely unreasonable. She gained a reputation immediately and people were only talking about her, ruining the experience for the whole day, when the proceeds are going to charities and are meant to bring joy to children...
