Really quirky olde fashion tea rooms. Small with limited seating but loads of character and a really extensive choice in their menu, my friend is vegan and was overwhelmed at how much choice there was for her.

We waited to be sat, and were given menus once sat. Two further parties came in and sat after us. Slightly annoyingly those parties had their food order taken before us, meaning that our wait to eat was going to be even longer and we were starving! Our order was taken and as food is prepared fresh it was explained we would have a little wait.

About 30mins later our food had arrived, we had been sat now for nearly an hour. However, the food was definitely worth the wait... every mouthful was good... I sampled some of my friends vegan gravy on my baguette which just added to the flavour.

If you're not in a rush then this place is definitely worth a visit.

Would have been nice to be compensated in some way for initially being...

Having visited twice before and been impressed with food ..service and atmosphere…I took a friend there on Friday 28.July 23 …what an embarrassment and let down ! She ordered the vegan lasagne on my recommendation .I didn’t recognise it to the one I’d had previously. It resembled the tatty sole of an old shoe…curled up and hard…so hard in fact…she had to pick the pasta sheet up and to attempt to eat it. Cold cheese still in grated form on top. Hardly any sauce. I spoke to the waiter who offered to get her something else but she was too embarrassed to reply. Her chips were cold and there was an apology for a salad. On paying the bill I commented and complained about the meal. The waiter didn’t “ bat an eyelid”. or even apologised. Needless to say…on reporting the experience to another friend she said she’d seen a notice advertising…for a CHEF !! THAT SAID IT ALL !! It will be a long time before I recommend this establishment to...

I used to love this tea room to old my friends and family who visit the area a lot but today upon entering ordered and place had 4 tables seated we ordered straight away and 40 minutes later still no food and 3-4 tables that came in 15 minutes after us so asked and said was system and when I said well others been served before us and the response was I was lying and those people was in before me he was very rude and said he will get owner and the chef came out saying well your order was after and said you welcome to go and have the coffee on the house I was extremely shocked as I worked in chefing for many many years and wouldn't argue and tell customer they lying very unprofessional very rude staff this time really upset me embarrassing me Infront of whole cafe even 2 of customers that had food before us and came after us was gutted for us how I was spoken to definitely won't be returning and will be saying it to...

So I use to be so impressed with this place but today not so much. I wanted to have the dutchess afternoon tea but asked for no cottage cheese with my prawn sandwich. Waitress said chef said that can't be done so would be £5 extra if I wanted 2 prawn slice sandwiches. If I was having all 4 of my sandwiches as prawn fair enough but I think there should be a fairer way to change for this considering its only £3 price difference between a cheese sandwich and the prawn with avocado. I ended up changing my order to a cheaper one spending half the price of my original order. You think the chef would want more spent. I think he could of made the prawn sandwich I wanted with less prawns. Its not like I wanted avocado on the sandwich which costs more. Very disappointed customer and don't think I be returning any time soon.

Was a lovely afternoon, first time after a long while of wanting to go inside. Interior and the staff were lovely and true to the theme of the overall room/experience, lots of displays homemade cakes and award winning tea/ coffee was so lovely was ordered a couple of times. Portion sizes a lot bigger than first thought and definitely get what you pay for, everything made to order nice and hot. Lovely and tasty can’t fault the food and experience Staff were really accommodating of us ordering couple of courses at the beginning and waiting till we were ready to make everything fresh. Had to ask and remind the staff of a few things we had ordered/ came with our order but that might be down to it being forever busy and hustle and bustle of the restaurant. So can’t fault them for that

I love love loved that vegan nut roast! It was amazing, and I felt so satisfied and full after eating it, after a long time of trying to find the right places for my palate in Southport. I had planned to have the afternoon tea here, but ended up missing lunch due to nearby sightseeing. So, I decided to skip the vegan tea and have the vegan nut roast with a decaf tea on the side. It was a great decision. It was a very well balanced meal with steamed vegetables, thick cut chips, and of course, the nut roast with nuts and soya mince. We got a table as soon as we went in, a little close to 2 in the afternoon. It was likely their last available table. The service was alright. They do take card payments now, and have a little postbox at the counter to stuff your cash tip in it.
