😡😡DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was supposed to stay at this so called hotel for 2 nights with my partner and 4 yr old we ended up leaving after the first night we would have left apon viewing the room if it wasn't for no vacancies elsewhere in southport that night due to the firework display on over the weekend . Very disappointed with this hotel so much needs doing to it it's so out dated but also disgusting filthy, the cleanliness of this establishment is none existent there were blood stains and sweat stains on the bedding, pillows, and matress also hairs found all over the bedding. Dust everywhere in the room, skirting was falling to pieces, hair in the bathroom, beds broken, holes in the walls were electrics were ( not brilliant with a 4yr old in the room), light fittings loose and falling off wall, draws for clothing filthy and covered in a sticky residue paint flaking off the walls in the hallways and the room and the list goes on. We went to complain about the room and beding and to which they said we've already upgraded you as when we arrived they had put us in a double room and our 4 yr old had no where to sleep. So anyway they moved us and when doing so tried to put the same blood stained bedding on the beds in the new room. The new room was just as bad as the 1st one we were given, stained walls and holes in the walls etc but it was late and we just wanted to sleep, we figured the sooner we fall asleep the sooner we can get out. Throughout the night we were awoken constantly from banging doors, people talking, bangs from outside, this being when we could finally fall to sleep as the beds were so uncomfy and solid it was hard to fall asleep in the 1st place. The temperature in the room throughout the night was cold too my partner woke constantly because of the cold which resulted in him sleeping with his dressing gown on as well. In the morning we woke early from bangs in the hall, got ready and headed for reception to ask for a refund for the next night as we did not want to stay again. We had paid £194.00 for 2 nights, £12 in parking and was refunded for 1 night we wernt happy with this as we wanted a full refund. Some staff were nice and apologetic others couldn't give two hoots if you enjoy your stay or not. At the reception while queuing to speak with someone I heard many more people complaining about how something was wrong with there room one bloke mentioned how his room was leaking and that his bedding was filthy to which the receptionist replied we will see what we can do instead of I'm sorry we will sort that straight away as you would expect to hear. I didn't have any food here luckily but couples I spoke to about the hotel said the food was of poor quality and over priced. I would never recommend that anyone waste there money at this hotel wether it be to pop in for food or to stay over. Thankfully after leaving we managed to find another hotel just 2 minutes up the road called the peaky blinders were I would defiantly recommend to anyone. The rooms there are amazing, friendly staff and it's clean. Please don't waste your money at the Prince of Wales book somewhere...
Read moreOn first viewing the hotel it is a beautiful building both inside and out. The reception staff were dressed in uniform and both helpful and very pleasant.||On entering my room, there were several leaflets and notices on the drawer top. One of these, I had to read twice to fully understand what I saw.||The notice read:|‘Please note we will not enter your room during your stay unless there is an emergency. This means your room will not be serviced during your stay. Your extra set of towels will be found in the wardrobe.’||So the bins in the bathroom and bedroom were not emptied during the week. Obviously reflecting cutbacks. Throughout my 5 day stay I never saw a hotel services member of staff anywhere in the corridors or downstairs areas.||There were no portering staff to help with cases. One of the lifts was out of order all week. You could just about get 3 or 4 people and their cases in one lift. ||For a 3 star hotel, I was disappointed that there was no vegetarian option listed on the main menu. You could ask for a salad or jacket potato but be honest I want more than those when I am on holiday. ||Some of the vegetables were obviously frozen and many tasteless. Apart from gravy, there was no other sauce to go with fishcakes. ||The desserts were obviously bought in traybake types plus some doughnuts. There were jugs of single cream to go with them. I would have expected a warm dessert at least once or twice during the time we were there.||The dining room/kitchen staff did their best, were helpful and pleasant at all times and smartly dressed.||This is a cashless hotel which I had not come across before.||There was no heating on in the hotel and on the day of departure we were not leaving until 1.30pm. We were sitting in the large reception area from 10.00am in our outdoor coats with no option of buying any warm drinks.||This is a big Victorian hotel and as such displays some beautiful internal features but also some not so beautiful single glazed windows that do not shut so rattle during windy weather and let in surrounding noise. Do not look too closely at the beautiful windows both in the dining room and the reception lounge area if you like to see clean windows as you will not see one, they leave a lot to be desired. Again a lack of hotel services suggesting cutbacks have been made a priority.||The hotel is well situated on one of the main shopping streets with the more popular high street shops a short stroll away.||I found the bedroom to be well equipped with a good flat screen tv. A hairdryer, kettle, cup, saucer and spoon with a variety of good quality tea bags and coffee sachet together with sachets of milk and sugar. These items were also freely available from the reception counter.||Having previously stayed in two other 2star hotels a few weeks ago, I was disappointed with my experience at the 3star Prince of Wales...
Read moreAs my spouse and I entered the hotel, a junkie burst out the glass door with a big dog, smashing the glass in. He was stopped by hotel staff who brought him back inside. His things were scattered over the reception area and he was distressed. His dog bit a woman's face and had attacked another dog the previous day. We were scared as the man seemed unpredictable and even our two dogs were terrified. Luckily his dog stayed outside, although at some point someone suggested to bring it back inside. The police were called and he was removed. We just wanted to get to our room as quickly as possible, but had to endure the entire incident.
We checked-in and went to our "executive" room. Nothing about that room appeared executive, nor did it look anything like the pictures we had seen online. The heater was on, the room was boiling hot, and the bathroom didn't have a door handle. As no one was able to fix those issues that evening, we were moved to another room. Due to the earlier ordeal, we received an upgrade and stayed at the Buckingham Suite. It was a lovely room and looked much more like the pictures you see online.
However, in our bedroom there was a fire door, connecting us to the room next door. We went to bed around midnight and our next door neighbours had their TV on a high volume and spoke very loudly to one another. We knocked politely on the door and asked them to keep it down, which they did at first. We called reception when they got loud again, but I doubt they did anything as nothing changed. It was around 1am when our neighbours proceeded to have intercourse three times!! Each time getting louder to a point where we could hear their bodies smacking against each other. It was absolutely grotesque! At this point we were so distressed we banged at the fire door again. Instead of an apology, the man began raging and nearly knocked the door down. We were terrified and felt trapped. We called the reception desk, but no one picked up the phone. So, we called the police. The man next door then went to get the manager to complain about us!! The manager knocked at our door and continued to be patronising and belittling. He rolled his eyes, sighed, wouldn't allow us to talk. He told us off for calling the police and he didn't allow me to speak, even said, 'you're making it worse'. But he listened to the man next door and even had his back. I was freaked out! I had just been forced to listen to a man have sex, that man threatened our safety, made us feel trapped, and then the person who was supposed to help us, wouldn't even let us talk. He treated us like dirt, and I think he did so because we were both women. I had a full on panic attack and we were awake until the early hours of the morning. We woke up exhausted and still shaken up. We weren't even offered another room and were forced to "sleep" right next door to...
