I have eaten at Lings multiple times over the years and it was truly a favourite in our family. As it was my mother’s birthday we decided to go as a lockdown treat. The person who took my order over the phone struggled to understand my order and actually asked me if some of items I ordered were on the menu! I asked them to confirm the order on the phone due to the miscommunication which they did and was correct. When we got home (which took us 10 minutes in the car) there were multiple items missing and some of the sauces for some dishes had the consistency of water! When we called to speak to restaurant regarding the missing items and poor quality of food we were met with rudeness and condescending behaviour. I work in customer service and I’d truly never treat an unhappy customer the way the restaurant did. They claimed we never ordered the items we were missing, because of our 10 minute drive thats why the sauce had the consistency of water (like magic) and because it is a take away the food is not as good in quality (why charge restaurant prices for it then?). Ling actually got on the phone and hung up on us and offered no solution. I guess they don’t care anymore about the quality of food and customer service. The salt n pepper chicken was borderline raw, the chips were that soggy with oil we couldn’t eat them, my bbq ribs were overcooked and chewy like they had been left under a heat lamp. I rang and spoke to the restaurant and they sent out another portion of salt n pepper chicken. By the time it arrived my son was being sick in the bathroom from trying some of the chicken. I told the delivery guy we were not happy with any of the food and he should take it all back. He said he couldn’t because of covid. Read moreI ordered takeaway food for delivery over the phone - I spoke to a man who took down my order but he then asked me to put the order through Just Eat instead. A woman then called me back to ask if I had put my online order through as she couldn’t see it, I said no and I was told it didn’t matter, they would deal with my order anyway. I then waited approx. two hours (I didn’t think much of it as they were really busy the last time I ordered and it took them approx. 1.5 hours to deliver). I decided to call them to find out where the food was. Spoke to a man who said he would find out for me, he placed me on hold for ages and then the call was suddenly disconnected.
