Midweek past 8 at night, I walked in and was clocked by the Landlady straight away, exchanged pleasant chat , ordered myself a pint. The Landlady gave me an induction to make me feel at ease. I was 1st at the lounge, then walked into the bar area. Got loads of friendly nods. A gentleman asked if I wanted play this quiz thing (2 for a pound), I assumed it was some kind of an initiating thing (it wasn't). Thursday nights is a pools night. It was busy with bunch of live and let live type of people. A giant plate of chips and sausages were placed next to me. I thought this was was my welcome present (it wasn't). It was for the folk who were playing pool. I was given a plate with chips, sausage (very kind). It is a good community pub with a positive atmosphere. Clean toilets too. I would recommend.

Been in a couple of times since moving into the area, been made very welcome by staff and customers alike (and their dog), lovely pub full of character.Met Karen the manager today, sociable, friendly, approachable. Just what is needed to run a pub, having worked in the trade for many years. We were given lots of information if we choose to become regulars, absolutely lovely atmosphere, see you soon xx Sharon...

Throughly enjoyed my experience here, amazing staff who are extremely eager to help in every way possible! Awesome range of cask ales and the rest of the drinks are reasonably priced. A wide variety of entertainment and sports teams to become a part of. A real old school pub of times gone by, with a real family and community spirit. Can't recommend it enough. Will be back again many times that's...
