As it was opening night, the restaurant was fairly busy and there was a small wait for starters, but the staff kept us updated and gave us their apologies and in all honesty, the wait wasn’t even that long. All the food was delicious, we enjoyed every bit and I found a new favourite curry (see below)! What we couldn’t manage to eat, we brought home for lunch the next day, but it turned out it was only enough for one of us in the end.
We enjoyed;
2 Poppadoms & Pickle Tray (£5.85)- a must 3 pc Onion Bhaji (£3.50) – obviously homemade and a bargain price Lamb Chops (£4.95) – lovely spices & marinade used, small chops Chef’s Signature Chicken Katta Massalla (£9.95) – Medium to Fairly Spicy, saucy, big chunks of chicken; this was reyt up my street and I will be ordering this again. Poss a new fave curry of mine! Chef’s Signature Lamb Hariali (£10.95) – Fairly hot dish with tender chunks of lamb that were nicely pink in the middle. Pilau Rice (£3.50) & Cheese Naan (£3.50)- could have been a lot cheesier in my opinion, haha
We really enjoyed the food here. The curries were quite oily but were still delicious.
The atmosphere got better during our visit as it went on. You could initially tell it was open night with very minor hiccups (music kept going off, food taken to wrong tables). We thought that the prices reflected real value for money.
The owners, who previously owned The Curry Spoon in Hillsborough (so you know you’re in good hands), take pride in their chef’s serving good food, especially the lamb which should be tender and melt-in-the-mouth. If ever it’s chewy and tough, they encourage you to let them know!
Give this new local restaurant a visit or order for delivery/collection (10% discount on all orders via their website). We can’t wait to dine here again.

Read moreI cannot mark it a zero otherwise I would. We booked via messenger 2 weeks ago. We arrived tonight to be told there was no space and the booking wasn't accepted despite the message saying they'd book it for us. A staff member said " it's not us that deal with bookings.its someone external". Surely someone needs to communicate better. I got the impression they weren't bothered one bit about letting us down. It was suggested that we should have phoned to book, which I did several times and no answer, hence the message sent. We asked for a manager , a man was sent who really didn't care and proceeded to ignore us and speak to other customers.We were offered a voucher but we refused as this would've been our first visit, very disappointing for a new restaurant. We won't be making the effort to return. Luckily the other local Indian could give us a table...
Read moreOrdered food, almost 2 hours to deliver! Rang to find out where it was after an hour, told it would be 5 minutes. An hour later it turned up. Unfortunately it definately was not worth the wait! Food cold, unsurprising as it had been having a jolly round Chapeltown for 2 hours. No explanation, no apology. Soooo bland! Had a madras which was about as spicy as just a basic curry at most other places. Overpriced by about 50% compared to my usual curry house. Wont be using again, even though they are just around the corner. Rather drive 15 minutes for a good curry than walk 2 minutes for a very poor one. Owner just posted as a "fake review". Sorry my friend, but it is an honest and sincere review. If you don't like it, ensure food is delivered on time and at least warm, not 2 hours...
