Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Sheffield

Food in Costa coffee shops is prepared elsewhere and brought in, and has that cooked with oil consistency that comes with things designed to have a long shelf life. I personally like Costa coffee with it's medium roast mellowness... It is less dark than say a cafe Nero coffee. In these brand name coffee shops, there are different sizes of drinks, and when you order a large then it is large! In small coffee shops, you tend to get a smaller drink for similar money, and of course the quality is more hit and miss. However, I will always choose small business coffee shops over any chain if I can see that they are hand making fresh food as it beats long life foods every time. This store can be quite busy, and behind the counter can be a little messy. They don't always clear and clean tables very promptly when staff are very busy. I preferred when people were asked to clear their own table and a trolley provided. Staff here are lovely and work hard, but their work area doesnt seem to flow well or have enough work surface, and when it's busy it gets dirty and care of the rest of the cafe gets sidelined. It's the most convenient toilet in the retail park so the toilets are not often clean. The seating area is tall, it has no carpet and is crowded with furniture so it can feel a bit chaotic and very noisy. Went with a friend and my baby in the pram. Asked my friend to find a seat whilst I stood in the que to be served. However my friend was approached by a member of staff and was told to move as the table can only be taken first come first served basis. My friend explained why she had taken the table because the pram would have obstructed the path to way out. Another member of staff approached her again and was asked to move, all of this happened whilst I was waiting to be served. I explained to the member of staff why my friend had taken the table with my son in the pram as it obstructed the way for people to go in and out of the cafe. Im so disappointed on how it was dealt with it and how it created a scene. A lady was sat outside on their seating area without a drink and nothing was said. The service is phenomenonal despite lack of staff numbers. However the 2/3 staff members u had working at ur Kilnerway establishment were working flat out and appeared to be very efficient working as a team . And each couldnt apologise more for lack of seating. (No seating inside) Oviously it was all enclosed so made sense. It was lovely to see customers health being put 1st before profit. There was one table outside already occupied it was sad to see not everyone appreciated ur staff, enough to at least dispose of their trash it was everywhere. The man and a teen just walked away. Again ur staff were quick to clean it all away. I so wanted to help them but I'm immune compromised, its a pity some humans are not learning or I always now go by Eat it... Clean it... Bin it.
