New bridge inn — Restaurant in Sheffield

If there was a rating for the most welcoming pub in England, the New Bridge Inn would be a contender. Upon reading the reviews, I walked the short distance from Sainbury’s to try it out. I entered the pub and realized this was a favorite with the local townspeople. Whereupon, I made the mistake of asking for a menu in my American accent. I was informed that they do not serve food, however, a gentleman offered me part of his sausage rolls, that he had brought in from a nearby Greggs. Frosty atmosphere as we aren't regulars which is a shame as we have recently moved into the area. We felt uncomfortable as the 8 or so folks at the bar looked us up and down as we entered the pub and bar staff didn't try to make us feel welcome. Won't be returning. Great community pub !!! If you like a sun trap the garden is certainly one of those. Look after us on match days and non match days alike.
