Darnall Charcoal Grill Express — Restaurant in Sheffield

I'm writing this not out of anger, but disappointment. Here's what happened today: My wife paid for our takeout at 12:37 PM, with order number C83. At exactly 1:00 PM, I joined her and found that our food still wasn't ready, nearly half an hour later. Given her shift started at 1:00 PM, I asked her to leave while I waited.

At 1:07 PM, I inquired about our order. They checked my receipt and admitted, "We are sorry, we lost your order. I'll do it now." While I understand that lunchtime can be hectic, a mere apology isn't enough. Courtesy can go a long way in customer relations. I didn't ask for free food, just a quicker resolution. I asked for the faster item on the menu and a refund for the other.

Despite this, they continued to process other orders first, which was disappointing. When I asked again for a refund for the second item, one staff member did his best to accommodate me. However, another employee tried to aggressively explain their situation, which only annoyed me further. Eventually, the first staff member refunded my money, and the other handed me my order without a word, making me feel it wasn't worth the wait.

This doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, as I noticed other customers also waited a long time for their takeaways. Unfortunately, they have lost a regular customer. We're committed to supporting local businesses, but this experience was disappointing on...

I recently visited Darnall Charcoal Grill and had a really good experience overall. If you’re into smoky, flavour-packed grilled meats, this place hits the spot!

The chicken shawarma and lamb chops were absolutely delicious — juicy, well-marinated, and cooked to perfection. The naan bread was soft and fresh, and the portion sizes were generous. You definitely get value for your money here.

The staff were polite and helpful, even during a busy evening. The service was fairly quick considering the number of orders going out, especially for takeaway.

The seating area is decent, but it’s more of a casual spot than a dine-in restaurant. If you’re looking for a place to chill with friends over some hot grilled food, it works well.

Only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is that parking around the area can be a bit tricky, and the dine-in atmosphere could use a bit of a refresh. But for the food alone, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Never order from this place! If your going to eat go and collect it or you will be waiting all night! I have eaten from here a few times but only ever ordered a couple of times and this time was a disaster! Called these guys at 5.30pm for food and it didn't recieve it till 7.30pm. Everytime I called a different guy answered and gave me a different answer. 1 blaming the delivery driver and the others making up excuses. Eventually when the food did arrive it was cold as owt and not worth eating. Worse thing about it they even forgot part of the order so when I did call back I didn't get no apology and was told they are sending it out and guess what....it never came!
