We went as a table of four for our meal just something nice and easy before we went shopping. I do appreciate that on a Saturday evening it is busy with shoppers etc.
We were seated straight away which was great! Just went downhill from there. We waited around 20 minutes to be asked for drinks and by that time we’d already decided food etc so we asked to make orders all at once. We ordered burgers, chilli and chicken.
We waited again such a long time for the food to come out, around 40 minutes for all of our food, the thing for us was that there were other tables next to us and around us with either 3 or 4 people getting they’re food before us some ordering chilli and many other things but by the time we got our food those people had already eaten and paid and obviously left.
Our server also wasn’t the nicest, we had a girl and i believe the manager served us our food. The brought a tense atmosphere, shouting at staff in kitchen etc running around like he had no idea what he was doing. When he served the food he just slammed it down walked off and our original server came back and served us again just giving it to us and leaving.
Food was hot but mediocre, wasn’t as described or imagined and the rice was awful. I’m a lover of Mexican food and spicy food etc but this was just bland. I got a loaded chicken meal and it just wasn’t loaded at all, completely misses the whole point of loaded food, and to say the meal was called ‘ loaded chicken’ you’d expect more than a small fillet of chicken and then a mountain of rice and salad, just not what we expected what so ever. Only thing that was enjoyed was probably the burger. Which is the only thing I can give credit for as he asked for it plain and received it exactly like that so he didn’t mind his meal.
Once we finished our food we automatically asked for the bill as we’d already been in here over an hour and had just become restless. Where again the server was rude. We asked to take the service charge off as from what I’ve wrote you can see we weren’t happy with our experience, she brought the same bill twice without taking the charge off. We then paid and left. No thankyou or anything just rude servers bad food and bad atmosphere.
Me and my partner hadn’t been here before but we never plan to again...
Read moreIt would be 0 stars. Went for a meal today and my sister has a nut allergy, she was told to scan the QR code to look what was available for her to eat, which resulted is barely any options. When we asked one of the staff for a bit more help regarding the allergies as the app itself wasn’t very helpful she said the manager would have to come over, when he eventually came over, he never helped explain the app in more detail, or what things are available for her to eat. She then decided to go for the enchiladas which she’d stated that by the look of the app it was nut free but wasn’t sure, the manager did nothing to help reassure or check and just wrote the order down. The only thing he said were where the chips were being cooked nuts could’ve possibly been there before and could cause cross contamination. Once again he never helped or reassured my sister with her order and she didn’t feel comfortable risking eating from there. I went to go find the manager to cancel the order as I said she didn’t feel comfortable risking it if they’re is possible contamination of nuts in the kitchen (she is aware in restaurants it can have nuts etc) but most restaurants offer a lot more reassurance when it comes to allergies . When I went to cancel it he just said ‘what’ and stared blankly at me. We then ended up just paying for the drinks and leaving. The mention of any allergy should be taken serious in any establishment and the customer should be able to feel confident and reassured when ordering food in said establishment. We went to TGI Fridays afterwards and ordered there and the service from the start regarding the allergy was taken seriously and the manager also came over to check the order and reassured her. This used to be mine and my mums favourite place to be but well we can firmly say we won't be coming again. We ordered 2 margaritas and 2 apple mocktaiks on the 2 for 1 deal. Whilst the mocktail was refreshing the margarita left much to be desired. We ordered our drinks 5 minutes prior to the food order. The mocktails arrived about 2 minutes before the food but the margaritas arrived maybe 5 minutes after all out food had arrived. To make it worse both margaritas contained ice chips meaning they hadn't been striagned properly. When it comes to the food for my mum she had an okay meal, choosing to have the salad, and with the option to add halloumi or any other protein once we enquired, she liked the overall meal. However, mine left little to be desired. The nachos portion was large but it felt as if high price items were in small quantity and to make up for it the chips were over seasoned to give flavour. The seasoning was very overpowering and in some cases too spicy for my mum, something that isn't specified on the menu. The guacamole seemed over processed and lacked freshness. The use of both a pico degio and a salsa appeared to be to cut costs. The use of the pickled onion was a great addition and something I really enjoyed. I also got the cauliflower tapas dish and this left much to be desired. The same seasoning used on the nachos was back and overpowered and other flavour in the dish. It would have been better to add this to the batter as then it would be more consistent.
