Review: Wagamama - Meadowhall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
Wagamama at Meadowhall is a decent choice for Asian-inspired dining, particularly if you're a fan of ramen and noodle dishes. Despite its convenient location and vibrant menu, there are some areas for improvement that keep it from earning a higher rating.
The menu at Wagamama is diverse, offering a selection of ramen, curries, teppanyaki, and more. The portion sizes are generous, providing good value for the money. The freshness of the ingredients is evident, and the presentation of dishes is usually quite appealing. However, while most dishes are flavorful, some can occasionally be a bit bland or not as impactful as one would expect from Asian cuisine.
The restaurant's interior, in line with Wagamama's brand, is sleek and modern, with communal seating that promotes a lively, casual dining atmosphere. However, during peak hours, the noise level can escalate, making conversation a bit difficult. The open kitchen concept is interesting and adds an element of excitement as you can see the chefs in action.
The service at Wagamama Meadowhall can be a bit of a hit or miss. While the staff is generally friendly, the wait times, especially during busy hours, can be longer than expected. There have been instances where orders were mixed up or took longer to arrive.
Accessibility is a strong point for Wagamama Meadowhall, being located within the popular Meadowhall shopping centre. Parking is convenient due to the large shopping centre car park, and public transport options are plentiful.
In conclusion, while Wagamama at Meadowhall offers a convenient dining option for shoppers, and the menu has a good variety, the inconsistencies in food and service result in a 3-star rating. It's worth a visit if you're in the area and craving noodle dishes, but do anticipate potential delays...
Read moreMy friends and I came in for our first sat inside/restaurant meal since August 2020 and we were very impressed! We were sat in a booth in the corner of the restaurant, socially distanced from everyone else, which made us feel really secure. We witnessed staff fully sanitising seating areas, tables and condiments on several occasions, which we all agreed that it made us feel much safer, especially in these times! I mentioned my allergies upon my arrival and the wonderful Anna (Hello if you're reading this and I'm sorry I spooked you when I asked for your name! :)

We were sat next to bar watching one bar staff churn out drinks and about 4 waitresses stood talking. I just went straight up to barman to ask for my drink, which he politely did. But it was just tap water with ice. So why can’t another member of staff do that and take it immediately ?
We waited about 15 mins for our next drinks which my partner just went and took because they were so slow and could see them on the side with a pile of others.
We then noticed one of the girls who had been stood around then ran over demanding everyone needed to run these drinks. They all looked confused about what was what and I noticed another customer had to come up to ask for their drinks too.
Seems like Wagamama has updated menu for more upmarket experience but no basic training for staff. It is actually really annoying when they have this surface level of customer care which is scribbling all over your menu to point out a QR code and the waitress name if they can’t even do basic service…
we went for teriyaki steak (£18 and salmon (£17) but steak was overcooked & very chewy. And noodles were dry. Salmon was under seasoned.
Also why is everyone dressed like they’re going to a d&b rave? Cycle shorts and T-shirts made...
