I was disappointed with my recent visit on a Friday evening. Despite having a reservation, we experienced an unexpected 40‑minute wait for our food—even though the restaurant looked only about two‑thirds full. Witnessing other guests being turned away for what was said to be an hour-long wait only added to the confusion, as it didn’t seem to match the restaurant’s actual capacity.
While the food itself was tasty, the pricing didn’t seem to justify the portion sizes. Our dessert experience further dampened the evening. We were warned that one dessert option required a 20‑minute preparation for frying, so we opted for cheesecake instead; however, the cheesecake took nearly 20 minutes to arrive as well, and one dessert was never served at all. Meanwhile, plates from our mains remained on the table even as we ate dessert, making the service feel rushed and disorganised.
The automatic inclusion of a service charge was especially frustrating given these issues. Overall, the delays and lack of clear communication left a negative impression. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary adjustments so that future guests enjoy a more efficient and pleasant...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant on a Saturday — for the first and, unfortunately, the last time. The place was visibly not full. From the start, we were met with rude and unprofessional behavior. We politely asked to be seated in a quiet area and inquired whether we could go upstairs, as we had noticed a staircase and didn’t know that was where the toilets were. The waitress responded sarcastically, saying that “that’s where the toilets are, but if you want a quiet place, I can seat you there.”
After being seated, we ordered drinks and food. One of the drinks — a beer — was completely flat, like water with a beer aftertaste. When we politely asked to replace it, the same waitress responded again with a rude attitude, saying “Of course, sweetheart” — which felt inappropriate and disrespectful in both tone and choice of words.
Then began a long wait — one full hour for just a salad. The main courses never arrived, and after an hour we decided to get up, cancel the order, and pay only for the drinks. Unfortunately, we never got to try the food and left with a wasted hour and an...
Read moreThe Real Greek is definitely the restaurant to go to in Oasis dining quarter in Meadowhall. Do not be put off if there is a queue to get in - it is totally worth the wait and the staff ensure you are seen to as quickly as possible whilst making it feel a complete personal experience. It is the ideal place for many scenarios eg. Families, couples, light bites, business meeting, full meal - this is it. Staff are so polite and friendly, and it’s nice to see management working the floor and getting stuck in. My friend and I were personally seen to by the manager Rizart and it was like we struck gold! We had our two little boys with us, and he was extremely accommodating to our needs for highchair/pushchair space and being close enough to the toilet for baby changing. He asked all the relevant questions to be able to give us the perfect recommendation of food and drink for our order - which tasted amazing. To see a newly opened restaurant thriving and having a service so smooth is a true credit to Rizart and his team. Thank you and will absolutely be returning...
