It's sad to post a low review as looking at other reviews this place clearly has potential and that's the reason we went for valentines day evening. Unfortunately we didnt have a good experience and left after our starter...we had to wait 45 minutes for our starter to arrive...which in fairness tasted nice....however then after another 45 minutes of waiting our main hadnt arrived and we had enough and went for a chippy tea instead. The issues were that the restaurant does both meals in and takeaway, and had clearly underestimated the demand on this occasion. They were clearly understaffed, with no clear management and couldnt handle the demand. There were people constantly coming in to collect takeaway and queuing through the restaurant, so any pleasant ambience was completely lost as random people stood waiting over our table, people seemed to be waiting a long time to pick up their takeaway, and these people kept on coming, which meant the people in the actual restaurant were just not being served. At one point in the restaurant noone had any food for half an hour, and the frustration was not just at our table but was throughout the restaurant and could be felt in the atmosphere. Eventually, we got to the point where we had enough and left. I hope the restaurant learn from this, and improve the service element as I reckon based on our sample of food that it could be really nice. However, they need to reduce takeaway service and focus on being a restaurant, or solely focus on takeaway, not try and be both and achieve neither successfully. Sadly, we wont be going back, but wish them the best...
Read moreThe service was great and Quick, I thought the food was ok but nothing special, later early in the morning i was violently sick and diarrhea to the extent i was nearly fainting rang my partner rang 101 and told them what i had to eat the last couple of days i they told her that with what other food I had eaten it would have been the seafood curry i had at the restaurant in their opinion. The Food Poisoning lasted a good few days which was horrible and I have never been in so much pain. I private messaged the cafe as i didn't want to broadcast in public and did not get a reply for over a week it might have been two weeks and I had to send another message then next day I did get a reply and after getting more and more angry with there replies they basically said that it cant be them they never make a mistake, you must have got food poisoning some where else. They wanted proof which I was unable to give them as I was to ill to do anything at the time. and again They stated without any proof it couldn't be them. Obviously in my opinion giving all the facts they had made a mistake!. In my opinion they had dealt with the situation awfully , I wont be going back and wont be having takeaways from them. The food from the Thai bistro cafe had given me the Food Poisoning in all probability and in my opinion! Please be careful Food with Poisoning every body can make a mistake but not the Thai...
Read moreI’ve ordered from here several times before and have always really enjoyed the food — it’s usually very good. However, this time I was quite disappointed with my meal.
The sticky rice arrived as a hard block and was quite tasteless. I also ordered the red curry with chicken (number 42), which was not up to the usual standard. The chicken was tough and had an odd texture. The curry itself was watery and lacked the rich, flavourful taste I expected.
Additionally, the dish contained mostly courgettes and aubergine — which weren’t listed in the ingredients — and there were no cherry tomatoes, which were supposed to be included.
I hope this was just a one-off issue, but I wanted to share my experience as it was a noticeable drop in quality compared to...
