Mizu Sushi Bar Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sheffield

A few weeks ago, I joined a group of foodies as part of a @Sheffield_Foodie_Socials meet up, to try some sushi at Mizu. Now I openly admit that Japanese Cuisine is still very new to me. I am not an expert in it by any means and I have not eaten a lot of sushi before as I have tried to cut right down on my seafood intake. BUT OH MY WORD, the food that was served at this cosy Sheffield restaurant was superb.

As well as various sushi dishes, Mizu also serve ramen, teriyaki, tempura, miso soups and much more. I’ve always enjoyed a noodle dish, and over the past year, I’ve become a big fan of ramen. So I opted for something I know I enjoy and that I am familiar with, plus a side of some sushi, and I actually wish I’d been more adventurous!

Seeing the dishes that others had ordered and the quality and presentation of the different types of sushi really has left me wanting to try more and be more confident in this cuisine. So watch this space…

I had such a lovely evening in this restaurant, the staff went over and above and it was nice to catch up with some fellow foodies! I would highly recommend this restaurant for Japanese food lovers.

I hate to admit it but, as my wife would confirm, I am not easily pleased but, to their credit, Mizu in Sheffield actually managed it! All the dishes, starters and mains, including vegetarian and pescatarian dishes were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, as were the staff who were very attentive, friendly and professional. Probably, because of my poor communication when ordering, an error in a dish that we were served was handled extremely well by the staff, who went above and beyond. A question on this review is "what dishes do you recommend?" well, based on my experience of the food that we ordered, I would happily recommend everything on the menu. Believe me, this is a lovely restaurant. Portion sizes were generous, service was very timely and staff were extremely conscientious. My only regret is that I live 150 miles away. If I lived in Sheffield or closeby, absolutely, without a doubt, this would be one of my first choice restaurants. Thank you Mizu, when we are in the neighbourhood, we will be back. In the meantime, if yo are able to deliver take-aways 150 miles away, please...

Mizu Sushi – Best Sushi Rolls in Sheff!

Honestly, Mizu Sushi is an absolute gem. Been a few times now, and every time it just gets better. The sushi rolls here are next level – super massive, super fresh, and packed with flavour. Easily the best in Sheffield in my humble opinion :).

We went all in (as per usual) and ordered a massive feast to try as much as possible. The sushi was spot on, but the cooked dishes were just as impressive – proper tasty and full of flavour. You can tell they use top-quality ingredients, and everything comes out beautifully presented.

Service is always great – the chap looking after us was super attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The manager/owner is amazing too, really takes the time to chat and get to know his customers, which makes all the difference.

Don’t forget to get the Soft Shell Crab! Yum yum!

Cocktails are also yum! Can’t wait to come back again and again!...
