So- the food is lovely and plentiful. Our table was booked for 8.15pm. We arrived on time, then the waiter found our booking on their sheet and then frantically looked around for a table. He discovered 3 girls were sitting on our table, so asked them politely to move to the pub side. This resulted in an altercation as the customer was very rude to the waiter. It was incredibly awkward standing there by our table hearing the customers kick off. I dont know whether the restaurant failed to put a 'reserved' sign on it to prevent people just having drinks and not food from sitting in the restaurant bit, or whether they had finished their meal and stayed past their sitting. Nonetheless it was awkward. Anyway, my husband went to the bar to order me a glass of Chenin Blanc. The girl behind the bar gave Sauvignon Blanc instead, as I discovered when I started sipping it. I can't have Sauvignon as it gives me palpitations and makes me ill. My husband brought it back to the bar and politely explained he had asked for Chenin Blanc and asked could it please be changed. The girl admitted the error, saying she misheard him, but with a lot of attitude, saying 'You said Chenin Blanc instead of Chenin'. Staff need to be better trained in knowing the different names of wine- its Chenin Blanc. 'I'm sorry I misheard you, I'll get it changed for you now' would have been a more appropriate response instead of trying to get one up on the customer. Shortly after we had sat down initially a guy came over saying we need to order within the next ten minutes as the kitchen was closing soon. It made us feel rushed. It was only about 8.30pm at this point! Then after we finished our main course, about 9.30pm, they wouldn't let us order a Kulfi for dessert off the menu as it was 'too late'. But it comes pre packaged- the kitchen being closed for any further cooking should not stop the customer being allowed a ready made dessert from the fridge. Overall a poor experience. They need to up their game. There are lots of lovely Indian restaurants in Crookes, and down the road is Mowgli which is...
Read moreBoth my orders via uber eats have had issues with the food, service and things not being quite right I have contacted them several times by phone and email and they have not replied to my emails and speaking to manager Lauren apparently the food is supposed to be like this and they have lots of vegan customers ordering from them? I find this hard to believe based ob my experiences and that of those who have messaged me
Order 1 The food took a long time to come and was cold and missing cutlery, the portions of roast dinner & vegan burger and chips were big but he seitan chicken wings were dry strips of seitan? and burnt chips/roast potatoes they taste bitter and I couldn’t eat them the vegan burger stank of dairy and wasn’t sure if the cheeze was vegan or dairy in all honesty and things on the app are labelled vegan when not major red flag
It’s a shame the food was bad as the packaging used sustainable not plastic
Order 2 I was given a voucher as i left my honest feedback on ubereats app
So I gave them a 2nd chance ordering a roast dinner, vegan burger & fries (no cheeze requested) and handcut chips So the burger and fries and handcut chips arrived but no sign of the roast dinner or gravy...
I called the driver nothing there so called the restaurant no answer I tried again and got thru asked where my meal was and told it hadn’t gone thru on their system yet I could see it on my receipt and had been charged for it.....🤨 They didn’t offer to send the meal out just a refund of the meal which was done on the phone and told he would send some vouchers for some cocktails by email which didn’t come thru nor the recipt for the refund and I contacted asking for it by email and phone. The chips were disgusting burnt and smelt of old oil and really greasy wouldn’t recommend or go here
My worst takeaway experience ever.... They clearly don’t care about their food, or customers or customer service and there are so many places to get good vegan food from in sheffield so try one of them...
Read moreThe York have a lunchtime promotion of a lunchtime pie with peas for £6. Me and some friends arrived at lunch, were handed the main menu and the pie menu. Three of us ordered a pie, which was decent enough, but not the best pie I've ever had. It came with chips (and my girlfriend's came with a steamed veg) but we thought nothing of it.
When it came to pay however we were all charged £10 each. I asked why as the promotion clearly states the pie is £6 but the server said it's because he assumed (he never asked at any point) that we all wanted the main menu pie with came with sides. Here we have several problems:
Upon raising this to the manager later via e-mail all I was offered was an apology. Several e-mail exchanges and about a week later I was offered 10% then 20% off my next visit, but after being overcharged I can't say I was at all bothered to return. There's plenty good pubs in Sheffield that don't want to play tricks like this for the sake of a few quid so we'll definitely be taking our business elsewhere in future. Could maybe have understood if it was a brand new promotion but as it's been doing the rounds for a long time, it's a real...
