I was first introduced to Nottingham House pie’s by a friend back in 2016, I wasn't expecting much. We ordered a pie each and I was blown away. The food was a fantastic, full of flavour and taste but with the décor in need of a well overdue refresh. The food was excellent but let down by its surroundings. I went back in 2019 and it has had its furnishings updated very tastefully. The food was absolutely fantastic for the price and I defy you to find a tastier pie! They normally have a large selection, usually ten options of pies, on a board behind the bar, with some very good vegatarian options too. They do the staple mince beef and onion, steak and onion, steak and stilton, steak and potato, steak with red wine and bacon, chicken bacon and mozzarella, chicken and leek, chicken and wild mushroom to more unusual feta, artichoke and red peppers or asparagus and mushroom! All served with homemade chips or mash with mushy peas and gravy. I forgot to mention that there is a small outdoor seating area too. To sum up, A+++ for food, quality and service. Its how a pub...

Been to this place for food for more than 8 years. No concerns about food but had a bad experience with one of the staff today.

Ordered for two takeaway pies today and was informed that it would take 5 minutes. Waited for about 15-20minutes and was trying to ask one of the staff for update.

The lady who originally served us was nice and helpful, but when I tried to ask another female staff for help, she was rude and said "I cannot help you", I have explained I was promised for the 5 min wait and now it has been 15-20 mins, she said it was not her problem. She did not even offer to check with the kitchen - so I would rate 1 star for the services and think this lady who was standing at the till at 14.25-14.40 would need some serious re-training for her customer service skills. She was wearing a grey T shirt.

The lady with curly long hair was lovely and was the person who served us in the beginning.

Food wise, no issues. It is all because of one bad staff and hence this review.

Very disappointing. The pies lacked flavour and seasoning. The mash was cold and lumpy, the mushy peas were tepid. The portion sizes were small. I feel as the ingredients of the pies has changed, cheaper protein to help drive a bigger profit on food. The pie I originally ordered was off the menu, but I could still order it. There needs to be better Communication between the kitchen and the bar staff. The table was dirty on arrival and had no clean cutlery. The all round service was miserable and no one came to do a table check after the food had been given to us. I can sympathise a bit as they probably just had quite a busy Saturday lunch rush. I think one member of staff on the floor would benefit this being a recurring problem. Whoever is on the pass in the kitchen, needs to make sure they are checking the quality and the presentation of the food and...

Food took a while, but was delicious paired with generous portions. Pricing was great for what you get. A good selection of pies and a lovely interior that takes you back in time. The music fits the vibe perfectly. Opted for a steak and ale pie that did not skimp on filling with mushy peas, chips and gravy. The gravy was pleasant and the chips had a crunch exterior coupled with a soft, fluffy interior. The mushy pies were rather bland, but did not take away from the overall meal. A lovely pie and a lovely place to stop by with friends.
