Weāve dined at many Pakistani and Indian restaurants throughout the UK and regularly enjoy meals out. This time, however, we decided to try somewhere local. Although weāve frequently visited Akbarās in Rotherham, our family wanted to explore something new. After some online research, we chose āRAAZIā on Abbeydale Road in Sheffield.
Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from the staff. Despite the restaurant being very busy, they kindly accommodated our group of seven at a comfortable table within few minutes. The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere, featuring modern and stylish decor.
We began our meal by ordering a starter platter intended for four people, pilau rice along with lamb and chicken Karahi dishes and garlic naans. Rizwan (the owner of RAAZI) informed us that the dishes are freshly prepared daily and cooked directly in the Karahi without using pre-cooked meats or gravy, unlike many other restaurants. Rizwan politely requested a few extra minutes to ensure the freshness of our main dishes but promptly served our starter platter within 15-20 minutes.
The starter platter was beautifully presented in an appealing serving container, accompanied by hot plates delivered by the attentive staff. The kebabs, particularly the seekh kebabs, stood out as exceptionally flavourful and perfectly cooked. The chicken boti and wings were delicious as well. The chicken tikka was tender and moist, slightly wet (we prefer dry), enhancing its succulence. Overall, the starters were not overly spicy but rich in authentic flavour.
After we finished our starters, one of the staff member, promptly cleared our table and replaced the used plates with clean, warm ones for our main course. The chicken and lamb Karahi dishes were outstanding, freshly cooked, flavorful, and truly enjoyable.
To conclude our meal, we were treated to complimentary tea, adding a delightful touch to our dining experience.
RAAZI provided a peaceful, family-friendly environment, complemented by ample parking available on the street and in nearby areas. Thank you, RAAZI, for your delicious food and professional hospitality. We highly recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely appalling customer service! The food was average.
We ordered 3 meals using the menu on THEIR website and paid via debit card. We forgot to order rice so rang the restaurant on the way. We arrived at the restaurant and were told the payment hadn't gone through as they didn't use the 'Yoyo' meal service anymore that was and the prices were incorrect - may I add the same menu is still on their Google advert and also attached to their website with the same prices. The payment DID go through and I was charged £39! We were told to pay again and this time the 'correct' price which was in excess of £60 for 3 curries!!! We refused as that was not the price quoted on their website after much arguing the guy in the restaurant agreed and we paid £45 including the extra rices (we had now paid twice) We left the restaurant and when we got home (25mins drive away) they had forgotten to give us one of the curries! We never actually received the extra curry as they refused to bring it to us! It totally ruined what was to be a lovely family occasion as one member of the family had no meal at all! We asked to be reimbursed for the whole meal for the appalling way we were treated. Not only did they not refund us for ANY part of the meal but they said WE owed them money!! As using the 'correct prices' for only 2 meals (we had ordered 3) rice and a naan the cost was approximately £47!!! I have just been on the website and they have their own menu on the site - NOT issued by Yoyo (that's the excuse they use every time) and the prices are the same. So where is this other more expensive menu??? I would not have ordered any Indian takeaway at over £60! It seems like a scam! It took me a week to get the first payment of £39 back. Terrible rude customer service very unhelpful overcharged and food average! Avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally disappointing experience with Raaziās Indian takeaway on 22nd June.
I placed an order through their website (around Ā£45 worth of food), then called to add riceāonly to be told they donāt use that website anymore and my order didnāt exist. I had to repeat the whole thing over the phone and drive 25 minutes to collect it.
When I got there, they tried to charge me Ā£61, even though the online price was Ā£45. Thankfully, Ali at the counter apologised and honoured the original price. I asked him to double-check everything was in the bagāhe said yes.
Got home to find the main curry missing.
Called the restaurant and after a back and forth, they agreed to deliver the missing item. Ali said heād call me back when a driver was availableāhe never did. I had to chase three times, only to be told a driver couldnāt be found. They then offered a Ā£10 refund. I asked for a partial refund since the food we did receive was stone cold by this point. Ali refused and changed his mind again, saying he now could get a driverābut by then it was 9pm and the whole meal was ruined.
This was supposed to be an easy takeaway night, and instead it turned into a stressful mess. Since then it has now been over a week of back and forth contact with the restaurant and nothing positive has come from this. The original charge has also gone through from the website they apparently do not use so I have been charged twice for a very disappointing meal and service. Zero communication, poor service, and missing food. I wouldnāt recommend ordering from here unless things...
