They have a wide variety of dishes priced reasonably well.

Being a Muslim with a broad palate can make finding the exact meal you crave challenging. Tonight was my first time ordering Asian fusion style food in Sheffield without having to scrutinise almost every ingredient because Somo is HALAL🙂

I only had 2 mouthfuls of each item cause I purchased them solely for meal prepping and chose items which will freeze well.

Here goes…..

Cantonese: Chicken with Ginger & Spring Onions - 6/10 Very nutritious, unique aroma and depth of flavours.

Deep Fried Shredded Beef with Chilli Sauce - 2/10

Beef in Thai Sauce - 2/10

Beef with Satay Sauce - 2/10

Singapore Special Rice - 8/10 Really enjoyed this rice.

Szechuan Beef - 5/10 Apparently the szechuan was meant to be spicy but it wasn’t very spicy in my opinion…but that's just based on personal tolerance.

Japanese: Mixed Vegetable Tempura - 2/10 It made me nauseous, the batter was too thick and it was very oily. Generous portion though.

Salt and Pepper Shredded Chicken - 2/10 It was rock hard. Definitely not...

What a disappointment. Especially with such good reviews.

My usual Chinese takeaway was closed, so I thought I'd give this one a try. Portion sizes were uniformly tiny and stingy. I ordered what I thought would be enough to feed me tomorrow too (as indeed it would be with the same order from any other Chinese takeaway I have previously used in Sheffield, i.e. it should have been). Well, I'm going to be extremely hungry tomorrow; there's nothing left that was appetising/edible!

The worst thing was the tiny, tiny portion of noodles (plain noodles; no onions, no beansprouts, very strange flavour and texture. Very unappetising), even though they cost more than a normal sized portion from most other takeaways. All the (small) containers were half full. The food was a total rip off for the price.

The clincher? The delivery lady told me that I was pronouncing my own name wrong when she asked for it at the door 😂

Definitely not a place I will use again - more than twice as expensive as other places, because the servings are...

Random dinner out with family. Tried phoning to book a table but there was no answer. Decided to try our luck. On arrival the place looked like it was shut as no lights were on. We saw a guy go in so followed him in and asked if they were open. They were so we sat down. We were the only ones in the restaurant. They turned the lights on and put on some music. I guess the industry is very hard hit with inflation whilst trying to stay competitive on their price.

Ordering was quick and drinks arrived quick too. Starters were great and arrived promptly though the lady that was serving us brought out dishes one by one but relatively quickly.

It went a bit down hill from there. Mains arrived in same fashion but late between each dish. It's a good job we stated to eat the mains as soon as they arrived as nearly finished the first dish by the time the last one arrived. The main dishes were not too bad at a stretch but not great either.
