One of the nicest pubs in Sheffield! Usually pubs near train stations are very generic & just a ‘waiting’ place for travellers. In contrast, The Howard has personality & the perfect style to make you feel like you’re in your local. Sarah, the landlady, makes you feel so welcome & all the staff are lovely. The whole place is clean & modern & has multiple areas to feel cosy in, & the music is always great. The food is also always absolutely top tier! I recommend this place before and after you catch a train, of course, but it is definitely worth making a visit to any time!

Cute place, lousy, expensive food. I ordered a cheese burger, but what I got was a bland, dry, inedible mess. I even questioned it. For ÂŁ15 quid for a lunch, I don't know why ppl serve those prefabricated beef patties. The only reason I ate any of it was that I was hungry...I should have refused it when I saw the dry mess with nothing juicy on it. Yuck! And the place is so cute, I was all excited to come back. No wonder no one was eating!

Decent pub across the way from the train station. Had a good atmosphere to this place and was easy to get served. Was busy but managed to get seats on a shared table, which added to the atmosphere and the vibe as you could interact with other groups of people. Pints standard price.

I must apologise for the delay in leaving my review, this was due to circumstances beyond my control. We always visit The Howard for a drink when we are in Sheffield, so, as we were taking a three day "twixmas" break there, having worked the Christmas and due to work through the New Year, we decided to book the festive meal for December 27th as "our Christmas". What a superb decision. We arrived early to enjoy a relaxing drink prior to our meal. My wife is a tea drinker but I enjoy their superbly kept cask ales. So it was a pint for myself and a pit if tea for my good lady. Having been greeted with a warm and sincere smile we were shown to our widow table, beautifully set, including Christmas crackers, [a nice touch], in the far corner of the bar. Even though the bar was busy at no time did we feel rushed, thus ensuring a relaxed evening. For our first course I had the paté which was tasty and plentiful. My wife chose her favourite, prawn cocktail. This again was plentiful and served on a plate as opposed to a sundae glass which made a refreshing change and which my lady assured me made it look far better and was far easier to eat. For our mains we both opted for the traditional turkey roast with all the trimmings, and I do mean all. Plenty of delicious stuffing and a full chipolata for the "pig in blanket" instead of the usual cocktail sausage. The turkey was so moist that for once I had no need to ask for cranberry sauce to help it down. The gravy was superb, tasty and plentiful, an extra gravy boat having been delivered with the meal, [another really nice touch]. For desert I went for good old Christmas pudding whilst my wife, having been unable to find a desert to her liking, was provided with a refreshing vanilla ice cream together with a fresh pot of tea. All in all it was both a memorable and delightful evening. We cannot praise The Howard and all their staff enough. We will certainly be back soon and from now in our visits will include a meal as well as drinks. May the Howard and its staff have a healthy and...

Shockingly sad place! Used to go there for after work drink at times! Always by my self and keeping my self to my self! Till 1 day barman took offence because. After ordering a drink and paying for it! He gave it to somebody elce! After waiting and watching him serve others! I asked where my drink was! I asked as i always do! In a respectfull manor! He swore blind hed gave me drink! Even though i hadnt moved and with no drink in front of me! Bar man made a big deal and not only making himself look foolish but also embarest me! It wasnt till 1 or 2 other costomers told him that he didnt give me anything he gave me another drink! To which i said to him better late than never and went back to my seat! Few mins later he came to my table demanding appoligy for and his words! For making a comment that he found offencive! After i said i wasnt giving him nothing and if anything it should of been me to get appoligy!!! Anyways he asked me to leave and not come back untill i said sorry for saying better late than never! Which after waiting for about 10 mins my drink given to some1 elce! And basicly called a liyer for saying so! I was asked to leave! I used to go in there for a quite drink a few times a week! Now because a stupid barman who madeca fool of himself!!! Then having front then to and infront of a number of other people who saw the hole thing! So punters beware! Very touchy and well! A very hight oppinion of him self! Beware! Used to like going in there! And was as always! Polite!! And spoke to staff and any1 elce with respect! But and as ive found through life! Sometimes kindness and treating people like people! Can as this offence shows! Kindness can and is taken as weekness! Beware!!!! Oooh and i hope he got a kick out his actions! And as for me! I just go for a drink someplace elce! And all the...

After a very intense long week in Manchester at work, I got off off the train at Sheffield train station and pretty much floated up towards The Howard in an exhausted stupor. The warm glow of the pub invited me in like the hot bath that i so desperately needed. I was greeted by a happy smiling bar worker as i almost fell asleep stood up before i could order my pint. The pint was quickly poured and placed in front of me, the beautifully fluffy head on the beer looked like a hotel soft pillow.. the first sip was heaven, the second sip was a gulp which left me with just a quarter of a pint left. A friendly customer exclaimed... ''ready for that mate!?'' at me, I don't remember what i said back as I'm sure i was half way to dreamland. The pub, the pint, the bar staff, the customers, all the perfect soothe to a very hard week at work. Thank you The Howard, you rock,...
