Updated 2024
Full disclosure - I did work for the company several years ago, much has changed since then however.
Good: Old review said The service is great, The staff are really helpful and clearly eat at the restaurant as they have good product knowledge, they always look busy but always have time for a customer. New review I barely spoke to any staff except when my order number was called. Drinks are on a self-service free refill. There's an open kitchen too so you can see the food "cooked" "fresh" as you wait, a nice touch for fast food. - this open kitchen concept has now been almost entirely covered, just a small window is left for you to collect your food when they shout your number, you'll need to stand next to people trying to eat their meals if you expect to hear it being called.
Alright: Food is ok, variety isn't what it used to be, meat choices lack a feeling if quality (both the beef and the chicken are a bit rubbish) fries and nachos are over-seasoned (just a little less would be fine guys, seriously) and the burritos are too long and thin (both ends are just dry tortilla with a goopy mess in the middle, taste is fairly pleasant though), if anything I feel like portions have got smaller inside the burritos, this might be the way they've been wrapped though. It's a little overpriced for what you actually get, though my kids love it, I prefer it to maccys or KFC. Attached is a photo of the fries we got for £2.49
Bad: The atmosphere in there is non existent, the queue for the tills is next to about a third of the tables which can make for a slightly uncomfortable experience if you eat in. There is music in the dining area, however this is drowned out by the noise of the air con which is set to blow icy cold air all over your dinner (it's march and it snowed last week, why is the air con that cold?!?) Update - Staff have been replaced by ordering stations, and the open kitchen has been covered.
Overall, not a great experience, but...
Read moreOnce again another disappointing meal at taco bell. We chose to eat here because it was close to the areana. Was told our food would be half hour wait, so we decided that was fine as we had time. But in reality we waited almost 50 minutes. Once out food arrived it wasn't anything like the photos. Their was barely any filling inside the items we had. You pay alot of money for this franchise food. We ate it because we were hungry and knew the arena food would be expensive and queues would be big. This is nothing like the American version where the food seems so much better. Please could someone look into how much is put into each item as the taco had more salad than it did mince. I know this was a busy time to go but if you know events are happening at the arena then have more staff working. Also ensure your staff are correctly dressed before they arrive. I watched a young lady walking into the food assembly area with an outside coat on and hair down, she hugged most of the staff working. She the proceeded to start putting her hair up in the sane area and then put her hat on and walked back outside. This can be seen by customers in the restaurant. When I worked in catering for 14 years this would have been unacceptable and a verbal warning given. All hair should be tied back before entering the kitchen area, especially the area preparing customers food. But I guess standards were higher a...
Read moreUpon entry to the myself and my 'squad' were greeted with a fast moving organised queue. We were quickly ushered up to the counter to order one of the many Mexican delicacies that were on offer. I fancied something spicy and so went for a splendid chicken and salsa filled toasted wrap. My 'squad' also ordered, we were presently surprised at the student discount on offer. This especially make the experience extra 'deeece'. We quickly found a seat, filled up with the wide selection of beverages on order and easterly awaited the order to become available for pickup. When this did happen (for 3/4) of us we quickly dug in. The nachos especially were very well seasoned but posed nothing compared to the main event. The wrap was flavoursome yet spicy with a pleasant cooling effect of the sour cream. This was washed down with a slightly watery 'Pep'...of which was quickly replaced with a fill flavour version. The one downside is that my 'main man' received his order when the rest of the 'squad' had finished their meal. His look on his face when he bit the pancake type wrap said to me that it was 'proper dece'. I would rate the restaurant a 7/10 , timing and drinks were the detractors. Would...
