While I appreciate any opportunity to learn and gain work experience, what I encountered here was truly disheartening and unacceptable.
From the moment I started, it was clear that the management did not value their staff at all. I worked nonstop for hours without a break, constantly being pushed to work faster, as if I were just a workhorse rather than a human being. They didn’t show even the slightest bit of appreciation for the hard work I put in.
By the end of my shift, my back was in considerable pain. Despite this, I pushed through without complaining, hoping to make a good impression and deliver my best work. I even intended to leave a positive review for the bar because I understand how challenging running a business can be.
However, what I received in return was a low rating and no appreciation for my hard work and dedication. It was incredibly disheartening to see that my efforts were not only unnoticed but also undervalued. This really showed me how little they respect and value their workers. They seem to see people as nothing more than tools to be used and discarded. This experience was not only physically painful but also emotionally draining.
As a customer, you should know that the way a business treats its employees often reflects how they value their customers. If they cannot show basic respect and appreciation to the people who work hard to keep the place running, what does that say about their overall attitude toward service and quality? I would urge anyone considering this bar to think twice. There are many other places that treat both their customers and staff with the respect and dignity...
Read moreVisited the Nursery Tavern earlier today with my housemates and we checked in for test and trace as we entered the building only to be approached by a member of staff who arrogantly asked us if we’d completed the test and trace to which we’d told him that four of us had done it and that we all lived together, he responded with a blunt “doesn’t matter” and proceeded to direct us away from our table to download the NHS app and complete it. Of course, we had absolutely no issue following the rules and doing what we were asked to do, but it’s the questioning of our living situation and the pure arrogance from an employee that made our experience completely unpleasant. As we sat down, we ordered our food and drinks, which we then received without any napkins or cutlery. When we wanted to speak to the member of staff we called him over but he decided shouting at us from behind the bar was better. To top it all off, as we were leaving we noticed all of the staff were sat round a table watching the football and having a right laugh. The place has potential but unfortunately the staff having that kind of attitude makes me not want to ever return.
In response to the owner's response, my review wasn't to do with me having ANY issue with the NHS track and trace or government guidelines, it was to do with the...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS - BETTER VENUES VERY CLOSE BY. Never in my life have I asked for my wallet to be searched on the door and I've traveled the world. If spiking is such a problem in your hovel of a venue then the council should shut you down immediately. Bouncers were discriminately picking and choosing who they searched the wallets of with older male relatives of mine being let in without a second look. Called to report their illegal discriminatory practices and was ignored. Never go here unless you enjoy your basic civil liberties being infriged upon. I'm sure the "manager" will leave an arrogant response to this but frankly if your venue has this much of a problem with spiking CLOSE YOUR...
