I have been going to Uncle Sam’s since I was a child with my parents back in the 80’s I have not been for a number of years because I now live further away and it is around a 50 minute drive. Me and my partner called in the Saturday before Christmas because we had been actually let down by the restaurant that we had booked and we were in Sheffield, They accommodated us and made us feel very welcome and we really enjoyed our food in the relaxed atmosphere. When we were leaving we mentioned about taking our twin boys age “4” which at times can be an handful to a member of staff. She said don’t be daft lots of children come here and they are more than welcome so this Saturday afternoon around 5pm we headed over Myself, My Partner our twin boys and my Daughter age “12” we tried calling beforehand but there was no answer because they were so busy.

When we got there the lady accommodated us even though they were fully booked, we had a lovely time the Boys loved the train and the food and atmosphere was lovely. There were quite a few families in at this time and it was very pleasant to see. Nothing was too much trouble so thank you and we will definitely be back again soon. Many Thanks John & the rest...

I have been going to Uncle Sam’s since it opening and always enjoyed it with my family for three generations. We booked for Sunday to make sure we had a table but when we arrived there were no customers in the bar and just a handfull in the restaurant which I really thought was unusual . We ordered our meals and the burgers we were served fell short of the usual standard, The burger was very small in a substandard bun it was dry and the filling almost invisible, to fill the plate the fries were put into a separate dish leaving us very disappointed. My wife had a chicken option and enjoyed her meal but the experience was not worth the bill of over £100. I wonder if the business has changed hands since our last visit as it did not meet the standard that we have experienced in the last forty odd years. One very disgruntled customer!!
