The most awful service I have ever experienced in my life! Waiter Merdan-Dennis has been absolutely terrible! He set up a lot of rules since we set around the table. First of all he didn’t want to take an order from us, as our friends haven’t arrived yet. He said we should wait for them and make order together. I have asked him to make separate bill for us, but he declined it. So we had to wait for our friends, which is ok, even though our daughter was hungry. The most funny things happened after! It was 4 adults and 3 kids (10,4 and 3 y.o), we have ordered 2 grill mix and 2 kind of pizza (pitta) with lamb and mozzarella, cocktails for adults and juice for kids. But Merdan-Dennis said, we need to add more main course other way we will put him in trouble as it’s really great place and we occupied big table. Could you imagine?! We all were shocked! My husband was about to go without any meal at all. But we had to stay as kids needed to eat. So we ordered one more plate of kids menu, few salads and chips. He told us we have one hour to stay there after we need to leave . Could you imagine how we all felt? After we got a food, we realised one grill mix and one pita is missing. When we asked him, to check up order, we realised it was just one grill mix and one pizza in his order. Even though it was told twice it should be two grill mix and two pita. We just shared pita and mix grill with friends as we all were fed up. When we got a bill, it was already included plus 10% tips! How ridiculous! After we asked what’s that money for, they said it was tips but optional, and if we are not happy about that then they can cancel it. Which we did, as for that service we not going to pay for sure. By the way, it was different waiters around our table ( some brought food, others took dirty dishes),but I believe Merdan-Dennis is the one whom I talk about, as he is the one who took order and spoiled our time there. Coming into conclusion I want to say, the food was good, but we are not going back for sure because of poor...

I visited here with my partner on Saturday evening, we booked a week in advance to be sure! The place is out of this world. As you walk in, you're greeted by the open kitchen & meat counter on the left, all presented in glass refrigerated counters, and then one of the very friendly front of house team who took us upstairs to our table.

As we walked through the restaurant, there is rightly so a strong Turkish influence with all of the décor, light fittings, tiles, & furniture. Really nice middle-eastern influenced lanterns, comfortable dining chairs, dark furniture etc. There is also a smart outside area which is seemingly perfect for day drinks or an afternoon coffee by the river as well.

We ordered an Efes draft bottled beer, & a 20cl bottle of prosecco (around £13 for the two drinks), whilst we looked through the menu for our starters & mains, some fresh warm glazed bread appeared along with a homemade garlic (tzatziki equivalent) & a light chilli/tomato dip.

For starters we ordered the Hot Meze for Two - made up of calamari rings, grilled halloumi, falafels, feta filo pastries, humus, a little salad & some Turkish sausage. Rather large, but still delicious!

For mains - I had their Mix Grill which had ribs, lamb chops, lamb kofta, chicken shish, & lamb shish, rice, grilled peppers & a very colourful salad dressed with pomegranate seeds. My other half had the chicken & lamb shish which came with the same sides of my dish. The meat on both of our plates was seasoned & cooked perfectly. We couldn't quite finish all of our food, but none the less, we were still very satisfied. The staff even offered to box up what we had left to take away!

Unfortunately on this occasion, we didn't have room for dessert, but were given a small piece of Turkish Delight each just before we asked for the bill.

In between our meals, we also had another bear & a cocktail (some great drinks on their menu!).

Our total bill was £80.40 I think, but...

Having had the pleasure of dining at this exquisite establishment just two days ago, I am compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. This delightful restaurant sets the standard for culinary excellence and customer service.

Upon entry, one is immediately struck by the thoughtful and comforting design of the space. The staff, with their unwavering professionalism, genuinely friendly demeanor, and welcoming smiles, contribute to a harmonious atmosphere intended to put guests at ease.

The food preparation area is strategically separated from the main dining zone, an architectural choice that eliminates potential distractions while dining. Yet, the arrangement still affords a glimpse into the bustling hive of activity where skilled chefs masterfully manipulate meat and other fresh ingredients into edible masterpieces.

Of particular note is the congenial owner who, in my opinion, is likely one of the friendliest individuals you would ever encounter. It is evident in his interaction with every patron that walks through his door that he is passionately dedicated to providing a truly exceptional dining experience.

If one were to ask what more one could possibly expect from a Turkish restaurant, I would argue that this establishment has covered all bases, offering not only mouthwatering dishes but also a superb overall dining experience.

While some might find the prices comparatively higher than other establishments, it is my firm belief that one gets precisely what one pays for. And in this instance, one pays for what could arguably be the best meal of their life. The price, therefore, is justifiably commensurate with the quality offered.

I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and encourage you to experience the ambrosial delights it has to offer. I am convinced that you will not only find your investment well spent but you will also have a dining experience that you...

Great food, let down massively by the horenndous service & I mean horenndous! Wednesday evening, we'd booked, table of 4, waited 1/2 hr until our drinks were bought, by which time our appitisers were already on the table (platter menu) so lots of dips, without any pitta....... Apparently not served with the dips, so a bunch of dip, with nothing to use to dip....? I asked our waitress why hadn't she informed us of this & she just was "uhhhh, I'll go get you some bread." There are a few chaps walking around with headsets & I pads acting important, but not really doing much, as when I cornered one & explained how bad an service experience we were having, he implied everything would now be perfect & how short staff they were..... #notmyproblem But........ It didn't get perfect, our main dish arrived (which was amazing) while our starter dirty plates were still in front of us & it appeared it was our duty to clear the space... We were told a bottle of our wine would be on the house....... It was still on the bill. Later removed once we pointed it out. Our dirty main plates remained for a long time (1/2hour) after we'd finished, we ended up paying with our dirty plates still there ,even though members of staff had looked at our table & just ignored the fact we had finished. I've never before, in all my adult life, left a restaurant with my main plate still on the table as I left. Complete service shambles. Bad restaurant layout with kitchen downstairs & main restaurant upstairs, where the bulk of guests are. 2 bar staff for this whole area. To top it off, when we got in our taxi, flabbergasted at the awful service & talking about it our taxi driver told us it was exactly the same when he'd been & he'd not return either. Would I recommend the food.... Yes.... Is it worth the awful service..... NO Will we return...... No.... Shame, as its local.

2 different taxi drivers pointed out this smart-looking restaurant as we passed, so we booked for Sunday evening. Their website states "we pride ourselves in offering the finest Anatolian cuisine. With over 20 years of experience creating mouth-watering dishes and seasonal specials, we have something to suit every palate. " The restaurant is very smart and beautifully presented. We received a very warm greeting at the door, and you pass a wonderful display of meats and an extremely long charcoal grill as you are shown in. The menu was pretty extensive with a great choice of really interesting dishes - it was quite difficult to choose! Our table of 6 all chose different main courses and they were all very different but equally delicious - we all cleared our plates. To start, we chose, to share: - Large Mixed Meze served with excellent, warm bread: Cacik, Soslu Patlican, Hummus, Zeytinyagli Fasulye, Barbunya Plaki, Babaganoush - Lahmacun: Very thin Authentic Turkish Flatbread with a Savoury Blend of Finely Seasoned Minced Lamb, Aromatic Onions, Tomatoes, Fragrant Parsley, and Red Peppers We cleared the plates! Then for my main I chose: - Mavi Rüya Special: Marinated Lamb Meat, Roasted to Perfection with a Medley of Tomato, Onion, Aubergine, Mushroom, and Garlic. Prepared in an earthen clay pot and cooked in a Wood-Burning Oven, Crowned with Cheese and Elegantly Covered with Balloon Bread, served with rice This was a spectacularly served dish, brought to the table with the "balloon bread" beautifully raised, then opened up by the waiter to reveal beautiful aromas and the glorious lamb. We were all in agreement that this was an excellent meal in a really good restaurant. Loved it! (Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16)
