We went for a meal three friends catching up to the one in Slough food was good but the service was very poor. We ordered and asked for the mains to be brought out a little time after our starter,no sooner had we put our spoons down after eating starters they brought out the mains. Was quite disappointed that the staff did not ask us if we were ready for our mains we did complain that we needed a break between the two but this fell on deaf ears The desserts menu was very poor the Fladu we ordered was just milk and ice-cream with a vermicelli floating in this. The service was very understated as the staff when asked what the Fluda consisted of were unsure and said it was the chefs job which I found to be puzzling as to how they can then advise on a dish on the menu The service overall was not satisfactory , at one stage one of the waitress started taking pictures in the restaurant without asking people which is not allowed under the Dats Protection Act as we should be asked before they do this was not happy about this and when we questioned this they deleted the video and photo Once we had the very limited desserts we were then told we need to leave as they needed the table if we weren't ordering anything else. This was very demeaning and we felt insulted we booked in advance and therefore expected to be there till we were ready to leave. The waitress then advised us that the table is only for two hours. I asked here where is this information written as I did not see this on any display signs or on the websites and why was I not informed of this on booking as i would probably not have chosen this restaurant then Rude staff who were nor helpful we felt like we had been thrown out of the restaurant At this point there were four empty tables and when questioned she said the were booked for some guests Why then do you overbook? This whole experience spoilt the evening and very disappointed with the overall visit Will not be going there again or recommend this...
Read moreWe visited Kulcha Express in Slough at 9.20 PM on 24 July 25. They close at 10 but instead of a polite welcome we were met with a cold uninviting attitude. The lady at the counter clearly did not want us there.
We called her over twice before she took our order at 9.30. No one mentioned any delay. At 9.50 we asked about the food and were told it would be five more minutes. At 10.10 we were told the same thing again. Meanwhile we were getting uncomfortable stares from the staff.
At 10.15 two parathas arrived followed by two saag with makke di roti at 10.20. All of this was what my wife and I had ordered and it was genuinely delicious.
At 10.25 things went downhill. A plate of saag paneer with roti showed up which none of us ordered. My friend’s saag chicken with makke di roti also arrived which was the only dish he had asked for. When we told the lady the saag paneer was not ours she insisted she had repeated it to us which she absolutely had not. My wife had pointed to each item on the menu while ordering and saag paneer was never one of them.
To top it off after the meal my friend went to the toilet and found the same lady inside the male washroom without any cleaning sign or warning.
We still paid the full bill including service charge. The food was genuinely good but the service attitude and lack of professionalism were shocking. We...
