Well, I can truly say hand on heart. I'm astounded as to how this place has such a high rating based on my experience of the place.

Firstly, upon walking in the place, it looks like a dirty old takeaway you'd find in a back street of a third-world country.

With staff to match...

The young girl serving us was confused with a basic order, and things got even more complicated when I changed my choice from one breakfast to another where I was met with a loud sigh and confused look.

We received our breakfast fairly quickly, so it definitely wasnt freshly made thats for sure although missing an egg from one order, no sugar in the coffee despite being asked if I wanted sugar at the counter when we asked for sugar. We were told quiet abruptly that they weren't allowed to give us sugar at the table, and we would have to bring our cups to the counter no problem totally understandable.

Yet, we were again met with another sigh when we asked for the sugar that we instructed to come to the counter for in the first place...

Whilst there, I also overheard the staff, stating that it was our fault that the breakfast order was incorrectly served... I can only assume this judgement was made because I had changed our order immediately after placing it, I mean, literally before I had even paid for the order.

Hold on a minute how on earth can it be the customers' fault that the breakfast had been served wrong? All we do is place the order, and the staff make and serve the breakfast, would you not agree? Or am I being unreasonable?

Anyhow, I returned to the table to start eating my over due breakfast...

Well, what can I say? This was a real eye opener to the world of BAD FOOD, and I don't mean just a little bad. I mean, bad like something you wouldn't even feed your worst enemy, and I'm pretty certain a starving human would even turn down or at least struggle to eat and enjoy..

The sausages were the cheapest of the cheap and was like a child's plastic play sausage you'd get with a play kitchen.

The bacon was fatty and salty and was generally not enjoyable.

Beans were OK, I guess, but they did taste a bit like ravioli...

The tomatoes somehow had a strange twang to them.

The fried bread was just awful..

A greasy slab of fried bread was not cooked very well Indeed, I know fried bread is high in fats and cooked with butter, but seriously, it can be made to taste so nice with such little effort.

The mushrooms were pathetic little soggy things that had either been dragged from the waste bin or an out-of-date cheap tin of mushrooms.

The toast was pretty decent to be fair, but luckily, I don't mind a slightly burnt slice of toast myself, but I'm sure many others wouldn't enjoy burnt toast or maybe you would if you do thats great this place makes toast to your liking.

The coffee I had so much trouble with getting sugar for taste like it had been made using the strains of an old coffee strainer...

Overall, I don't really have a lot positive to say about my experience of using Yates cafe the food or the staff and can safely say I won't be returning ever again...

On a parting note to all those who have given this cafe such a high rating, I really suggest you get out and try other establishments as this place was just shockingly awful.

You will thank yourselves for doing so, as I can honestly say this was the worst breakfast I have ever experienced....

So lastly,

I'd like to thank Yates Cafe. Thank you so much for making me realise that I should either get my own breakfast things in and cook my own or go elsewhere in the future.

"Edit the owners response is full of lies I am not the type of person to be rude or aggressive, and I definitely did not barge past anyone my order was amended once at the counter and my breakfast was delayed by me having to go back and forth to the counter...

I would he interested in seeing the cctv footage as your accusations are not only false but border line slander..

The point of having a review system is for the business owners to take the feedback and look to improve the service...

I just felt a couple of things needed clarifying in your reponse to my husbands honest review.

We changed our order ONCE this was from early bird breakfast to a sunday special. Both of these breakfasts are pretty much the same apart from the sunday special had extras mushrooms, hash browns etc so thats why we opted for this one. This order was changed within about a minute of placing our original order, before we had paid and before the young girl passed you the paper with the order on.

FOUR adults came in and FOUR adults ordered the sunday special. TWO with fresh orange juice and TWO with coffees. The coffees with THREE sugars in each. You put ZERO sugars in any of the coffees, forgot an egg off one breakfast i hadto come back to ask for my orange juice which was also forgotten.

I can understand why you and your staff got so confused as there was alot of big numbers for you to deal with (ive highlighted these for you so theres no more confusion).

To Say such a lie that one of us barged passed one of your staff members is absoultly appauling and just shows the type of people you are.

Try whistle stop cafe on the A444 decent food and its service with a smile there. Even mcdonalds in swad is better than this place.

Just abit of friendly advice you might want to recap on yout primary school...

If u say ur open till 1pm then u should serve upto that time not stop at 12.30. I wanted some cooked sandwiches. They said they had sold out of everything before I even said what I wanted .. what a lie !!! It because they had cleaned up.. disgusting how they think that's customer service.. my order would have been £60 today and a small business like that shouldn't be turning down the money just so staff can go home early. I will never use this place again. I also run my own property development business & send my workers here . That will now stop. So for not been bothered today will now cost...
