We were shopping locally and got hungry. I have 2 children that are really fussy with food so I thought I'd give it a go as I had a voucher so kids ate for ÂŁ1. When they're complaining the food isn't right it does t feel like such a waste. Anyway, we hadn't booked a table so were surprised there was plenty of room for us. As we arrived we saw there's a carvery (my absolute favourite) so this made my day... Daughter being the fussiest with food would usually got for the children's pasta dish which isn't very big and she's usually hungry after. But today she wanted to try the carvery which she is usually against roasts. I asked if this was included.for the ÂŁ1 which it was so I didn't mind at all if she didn't like it. My son has a large appetite so the children meals are getting so they don't fill him up. We asked while ordering if the bigger appetite menu was included for ÂŁ1 which it was. The chef was super cheerful and reassured my daughter he's getting more roast potatoes. She doesn't normally eat potatoes but she was wanting to try them. She absolutely loved being able to chat and choose her own food. She emptied her plate which hasn't happened in a very long time so even the pickiest eater thought the food was good . My son had the fish and chips. He loved the way it was cooked, the batter was the right amount of crispiness and even he couldn't find anything to complain about (pre-teen so this is rare, he moans about everything). As for me, I had a plate full and it tasted amazing. The turkey was perfect, the roasties were crispy and the best Yorkshire pud I've had for a long while. The gravy was spot on. The drinks were ordered on the app and they arrived pretty quickly. The staff we met were really friendly. There's a lovely play area which my children didn't get a chance to play as it was raining. It looked good though. We will definitely...

He swore at me in front of my wife and three children and walked off saying heâd get the manager to speak to me. The manager didnât come over so I approached him, he said heâd been busy and was going to come over, he said I could get a refund on my plate and still have it, I thanked him for this, took it back and it was inedible anyway, completely dry and overcooked or recooked, my daughters was the same. When I left I got my refund on my plate and my one drink. It ruined a family meal, if we hadnât have walked here with the children and our dog Iâd have left and drove somewhere else. I wonât be back, it was a...
Read moreSo we came to The Copper Beech this evening just to come and grab a drink and play some pool (it was only myself and my partner) The atmosphere itself was really off, as we came in, the two ladies on shift were sitting down on their phones before staring at us upon arrival. There was a group playing pool, a gentleman on his phone still drinking his beer and people in the other room which looked like a function. The staff then stood there continuing to stare at us making us feel really awkward and weâve never really had that there!
Anyway, the woman kept looking at her watch and staring at us so my partner went to ask what time they close as itâs normally always 11pm as stated online. She replied with âNow.â At 9:55pm. We felt so embarrassed and anxious having walked in, the staff knowing they were deciding to shut an hour early and not telling us. We feel we should have at least been told upon arrival? We did check, and it states online it closes at 11pm every night. Thatâs always been the case. We even called up at lunchtime to see what time they were closing and they said 11pm so thatâs just wasted the last part of our evening. It wasnât exactly too quiet as there was still people there so doesnât make sense really.
Not a great experience this evening, we wonât...
