Showground Table Table — Restaurant in South Norfolk

Shockingly bad. Ruined our first night out as a couple for 6months. No workable tweeks for vegetarians on sharing starters and no option on the individual nacho starter. Other starter options out of stock so left with a tomato soup option only. Our table had napkins unceremoniously rammed under 2 sides to stop it wobbling. The main came out less than hot, so we had to eat it faster than a fast food takeaway, whilst I had to avoid the burnt (Sorry char-grilled) pieces of overcooked chicken and reheated ribs. And I won't even mention the skinny fries. We would have brought this up with our server however,either they are short staffed, or don't care, once they have sent your plates out. We were left to our own devices, whilst she happily kept pushing another table for their order. 30 seconds after they asked for more time, and guess what. Their first asked for option on a main meal was out of stock. We have currently gone home bought more food and are going to eat the £2 chocolate fudge cake we have warmed in a microwave and rue the day we decided to go there. I usually stay in at Travel Lodge Market Harborough, so basing this has a compassion to some of my review. A table of four. For three of us that ordered bacon we didn't get any and somehow my tomato didn't appear. Maybe I forgot to order but its a staple to my Travel Lodge stay. Bacon sausage hash brown x2 Scrabled egg and tomato. Mistakes are made. Thank goodness for the continental breakfast that was with it. The staff, prompt with the service, need a lesson or two on customer service, having spent some time in the industry myself it's what I pick up on most, Self presentation. I can only guess they were about as happy as I was working for Tesco! So I feel for them working for a chain is never an easy job,low morale for pittance etc. Market Harborough has mostly been my main stay as its close to events I attend, they have always given top class service, good customer interaction and generally a great pleasure to be there. Its actually great to see them there when visiting. ( although a few have gone now). I would have given two stars if it was not for the company I was with that made it a very memorable experience. Great place for food, the meals are absolutely lovely. Some staff are absolutely lovely but others can be very short and not interested. Went for dinner and had a large glass of wine, during meal I ordered another large glass and realised they did a offer where if you have 2 large glasses of wine you get the rest of the bottle free. I asked our waitress if the offer still stands and her reply was 'only if you order from the start'. Her reply was short and just stormed off when I was about to question it. My husband went to the bar to further question the offer as it never stated that you had to order the offer from the start. The bar staff then stated that they can offer the rest of the bottle but would have to be drunk on the premisis (which is absolutely fine) although if the waitress had stated this fact 20 mins prior I would have had the rest.. The staff weren't interested. We were spoken to with no respect. We werent really interested in the rest of the bottle but it was more the fact that the information was never stated to us and when questioned the staff couldn't care less.
