We enjoyed great food and wine, excellent service in a beautiful environment. I highly recommend that you visit. A lot of effort goes in all they do and have done in le clos. The design shows the extent to which the owners have gone to provide an excellent environment, with elegant music to serve good wine and delicious food. It is amazing to be able to taste such fresh sea produce in Wallingford, as if you are by the sea. It demonstrates how much attention to detail goes into what they offer here; delicious seafood (& land produce actually (but we did not try)). The food is good and the wine list is very comprehensive. The food is organised as sharing dishes of around £9 + each. The idea is to order a few and then mix and match. Two of us, so we had 4 dishes, and that was enough. French classics with other choices. Foie Gras was fine... Not better. Salads delicious. Quality and quantity with outstanding service and attention to detail. We were blown away by not only the size of portions, but how fresh the ingredients tasted. We learned Le Clos will also use ingredients brought in from France for some of its pastries.
