After receiving our food and drinks, my cousin realised after drinking a few sips of her Gin and mixer that the rim of her glass was covered in pink lipstick. My cousin doesn't wear lipstick so we knew it wasn't from her. I took the drink to the bar and got the attention of the female bar manager who briefly listened to my complaint, then swiftly took the drink from my hand and replaced it with a new one. I asked as a good will gesture that my cousin might have a free drink, as an apology for the very dirty glass and therefore the neglect of the bar staff. She refused, with no explanation. Shortly after I spoke to the pub manager Jen about the issue, she also refused to give a complimentary drink with no explanation. My cousin then noticed more lipstick marks on the replacement drink she'd been given. So I called over the pub manager again and explained our disgust. She remained adamant that a replacement drink wouldn't be given, neither would a refund. This pub isn't being run by competent staff. I will NOT be returning and I WILL be telling as many people as possible about...
Read moreUnfortunately not impressed with this place at all. Went to the bar to place order, it was a reasonably large order, 5 people plus a few sides. The man behind the till read the order back to us and at that time it was correct, BUT when the food arrived one item came out as a wrap instead of a meal and one meal was completely missed off. The wrap was replaced for the meal asked for but the missing meal had been deleted off the order before payment, so unfortunately one person went without a meal as the original lot of food had already been out 10/15 mins and waiting for a mixed grill would have been to long. Check your orders at the till and ask for an itemised receipt to check over aswell. Im sure its normally a lovely place but have been put off by so many mistakes and lack of care by...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our standard breakfasts again , now that we are out of lockdown. The shock came with the bill, the prices were down compared with prior to lockdown! Other pubs have definitely put their prices up, one in particular up from £8_99 to£12-99, very near 50 percent. I also saw that a pint of Doom Bar is down from £2-10 to £1 - 79 !!!! We were charged £5 - 10 for 1 1/2 pints of cider at a local pub which is not known for high prices. I must say that I couldn't believe the bad press about Tim Martin after the way he had looked after his staff in the past, sending them to college to get diplomas etc. and cleaner becoming managers! We will be back soon...
