If I could give this place 100 stars I absolutely would - 5 stars isn't enough.
Let's start with the service: We came as a large party and immediately the staff were incredibly helpful. Despite the interior being pretty small they somehow managed to fit 14 of us in one row of tables even though they had another reservation and other guests. The staff were very thorough in checking the orders were correct and that no one was missed. Unfortunately my partner somehow forgot to place my order so they asked the kitchen to do it ASAP and it was out before they'd finished serving the rest if our party.
Now for the food: Our party ordered a variety of meals and no one was disappointed. The portions were INSANELY large, only 2 of us were able to finish so you absolutely get what you pay for! My partner and I had the seafood ramen and honestly, it was one of the best ramen I've ever had. The broth was incredible, the noodles were cooked to perfection and the seafood was delicious. We also had some panko squid and gyozas which were incredible. The gyoza were nice and crispy and some of the squid pieces were HUGE. Some of our party tried bubble tea for the first time and said it was absolutely amazing.
Back to the service: We came here for a birthday meal for my niece. The staff dimmed the lights for the cake to come out and even washed the knife we'd provided for the cake. Also gave me a bag to put my cake in to take home. The service never once dipped, they served us all with incredible speed and accuracy as well as a genuine smile and positive attitude. Even if the food wasn't great, the brilliant service alone would be enough for me to encourage others to visit.
My review does nothing to really show just what a fantastic experience this was and all I can do is advise you to go there yourself! Please give this place a try, you will absolutely...
Read moreNeeded a pre-theatre meal having failed to book a restaurant as we usually do. So glad I found this wonderful little noodle bar, it may well be our first option for show nights from now on! The food was all delicious and the main course portions are generous to say the least, even my wife’s broth-based noodle dish which was apparently “small” (you’d have to be extremely hungry to take on the large version!). The stone pot rice is amazing, love the veggies and egg on top, and the pot stays so hot that by the time you make your way to the bottom not only is the food still steaming but also the rice next to the bowl has crisped up like a perfectly cooked paella - sublime! The young lady serving was excellent - friendly and helpful, and there’s an open kitchen which is always reassuring. Well done Mi Rice, we will...
Read moreThis is arguably one of the best restaurants in Southampton, bar none. Sure, the overall décor is more café than restaurant, but you’re here ultimately for the food, and this place excels at that. The potions are massive, for any blokes thinking of opting for large by default, be prepared they bowls are big! The food is amazing, its all made fresh just a few meters away, the staff are friendly, prices are very reasonable, with a main between £8 to £12 for a large bowl and it is superb. The Bubble tea is nice but possibly the only overpriced aspect. If visiting with more than one its worth booking a ticket as this place is often full within the hour, but they do have a walk-in takeaway. – Still if noodles are you thing this is the best Southampton has to...
