Popped in to Prive last night for a quick bite to eat and a glass of wine. The restaurant itself was quite empty apart from a large party sat to one side so we had a choice of tables. The host was extremely welcoming and quickly served us our drinks, offering us the food menu also. We chose the garlic prawns, salt and pepper squid and Pizza Americano. All the food was delicious and had been prepared and presented to a high standard. The prawns were especially good with penty of lovely garlicky butter. Staff were attentive without being over the top and we were presented with a complimentary dessert .. a gorgeous rich Biscoff cheesecake served in a glass. We really enjoyed it which is unusual as we normally don't order dessert. I would highly recommend Prive and will certainly be returning. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely meal and very...

Visited here on Sunday for pre theatre meal. I don't know Southampton but this is across the road from The Mayflower. We didn't have a booking, but nevertheless, we were greeted with a lovely smile and a warm welcome from accommodating head waiter.

Front of house staff could give seminars on the art of hospitality. They were all 10/10. Even as the evening got increasingly busy, they maintained their composure and smiles. I had the roast, it was perfect, 5 vegetables including red cabbage, cauliflower and parsnips. A small jug of extra gravy too. My husband had swordfish with pakchoi and pineapple salsa, equally delicious. Well done chef you gave us a treat ( and I understand you're new in post too.) The atmosphere was great and I could hear other diners making equally positive comments. Will...

Our apologies, this is a little late. We went to Southampton to meet my friend from her cruise. We weren't sure where to eat & chose The Prive. For our 2 night stay, inc lunch, we didn't bother going anywhere else. They had no IPA beer, but Jack (the bar man) ran out to a shop & bought some so my husband could have a 'real' beer. The next evening, no chicken was available. Again, Jack ran to the shop & bought some enabling my choice of meal to be had. Ashleigh was a very attentive waitress and helped to make our experience a very positive one. The food was prepared by the sus chef. Absoutely excellent. The team were so accommodating, I've never experienced such generous & considerate service in a restaurant. We wish you all the very best for your...

We came here as a pre-theatre eat! It was a very welcoming environment and we had a lovely server so a special thanks to Milena is deserved. The food is good, not spectacular but a good eat for what you pay. The seating is a abit strange, almost Wagamama style and being so close to others can be off putting for some, the tables are just a bit too close for my liking. The toilets definitely need a revamp and are strangely laid out, not a fan that’s for sure but nothing major. On the whole definitely a good place to grab something to eat and have a couple drinks, good value for money and beautiful cocktails. Thank you Milena!

We were simply hungry and decided to walk into the first restaurant we came across – and it happened to be Privé. Inside it looked quite nice, but we chose a table outside. Even though the restaurant is surrounded by roads on both sides, it wasn’t noisy at all. We ordered Ravioli and Carbonara – the food was quite good, with portions surprisingly large for the price. The lady who served us was very kind and attentive. Overall: a pleasant stop with good food.

We overheard a conversation about Prive restaurant around the corner from our hotel, so we went there and the place was very nice and clean inside. The workers Ashley the waitress and the young bus boy very friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious. Highly recommend the lamb shank, mussels and tomato soup. We got a chance to talk to the manager Sebastian, very friendly and polite. Sebastian knows how to manage a restaurant
