My now wife Helen and I were married at the Grand at the end of June . From first contact with the Grand we knew we were choosing a very special venue . Our contacts Emma and Jonny were very professional and made us feel at ease and were very accommodating for any special requests we had. They kept in regular contact with us right up to the big day . On the wedding day they had made every effort to make us feel special and the ceremony went seamless . The food was amazing and our guests couldn't get over how good their meals were and the evening buffet far exceeded our expectations. My only wish is that I had a bigger box to take some more home as there was a lot left due to the generosity of the Grand . All the staff on the day were brilliant ,nothing was too much for them . The venue itself looked amazing and decorated in the exact colours we had asked for . I truly do wish I could relive that day . From my wife and i...Thank you so much to all of you...

My Mum took me for afternoon tea here last week for my birthday. We'd booked for 3pm and weren't seated until 3:40pm. Despite them confirming the booking 2 days prior, none of the staff seemed to have a clue about it. Our table was right by the bar and the staff kept talking over our heads, handing things to each other and leaning over us. Also the chairs in the dining area were so flimsy and uncomfortable. It took 20 minutes and asking 3 waitors to finally get our bill. By the time we left, 1 hour later than we would have if there hadnt been long waits (even though it wasn't busy whatsoever), we were stuck in standstill football traffic and we ended up being late for a fireworks show which was also a birthday treat. The food was good quality but nothing special enough to salvage the experience. Sadly I think my birthday would have been better without going to...

Really impressed with the afternoon tea served here! In all honesty, I wasnt expecting anything great. For Β£24, at a bar in town...I thought it would be pretty standard. But, I will admit this was possibly one of my favourite afternoon teas I've had!

The sarnies were great, and perfect portions! The sweet treats were delicious and beautifully presented!!

We were offered a complimentary glass of prosecco when we arrived, and again as we were paying up!

Service was great. Staff would check all was well and then left us to it, while remaining nearby should we need refills etc. Our table was 12-2.30, but we never felt rushed to leave (we left about 3.30!) and could have easily stayed there into the evening.

Overall, we really enjoyed our afternoon and will definitely be booking again!!...

We really enjoyed our time there for our afternoon tea. The place was immaculate. We were the first to come, so we enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves for a while. I must say how friendly and helpful staff is, with a professional attitude and manners πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ. Not to forget, they were smiling all through the afternoon 😊 . I can't believe how the place has changed, and I love the refurbishment. Fabulous, from the bar to the toilets, and downstairs to the party room. Amazing work with more lights coming in ! πŸ‘πŸΎ However, with regards to our food. We found some cakes a bit dry or not fresh. Furthermore, the layout of tables gave us enough space to move around and not to disturb the other guests.
