Injoy Centre Southampton — Attraction in Southampton

Went in today with my daughter and 2 boys, iv bought my daughter climbing shoes for there climbing area, and she has used them there many times before, some young boy who works there has come over and said she can’t wear these shoes because there sandals, I explained they are proper climbing shoes with straps all around for climbing, he said let me check with manager, he’s walked away from me on his radio and I heard him say my daughter was wearing sandals, when he came back I said I explained to you there proper climbing shoes, but he said no you have to leave, it got me very worked up which I can admit I shouldn’t have, I went back in and spoke to a young girl who worked there and told her my situation and she was more understanding, I asked her could you explain to manger properly about her climbing shoes, rather than just saying there sandals which I know obviously she can’t climb in Sandles, the manager accepted they where climbing shoes and let her back in to climb, about 30 minutes later a young worker came up to my and made a serious allegation against me, when I told her no that’s not correct I want to follow this up, rather than just accept what you saying which isn’t true, she got really defensive and and argued with me, like she wanted me to just except something that wasn’t true, she was very rude, it was like they didn’t like it I was alound back in so made something up to get me out. Basically she wanted me to accept the allegation and take the warning she was giving me, she was very argumentative and trying to provoke me, I don’t understand because when I said I want to follow this allegation up because it’s not true she said it’s not allegation it’s just her asking me a question 😂 so why give me a warning then if it’s just her asking a...

Really disappointing experience. Firstly, when booking over the phone, the girl I spoke with was really unhelpful; I had to ask several times to get her to explain certain elements of the booking procedure to me, to which she just seemed annoyed and as if she wanted to get off of the phone. Then, whilst in the soft play area, which looked like it had never been cleaned (it was actually dirty) intended for 4m-4yo children, my 10 month old babies were almost trampled by children much older than that who were running around, freely, with no supervision from staff. There was also a moment where my friend had to ask children, who were much older than the maximum age limit of 4, to leave because they were throwing soft play items at each other, over the heads of my babies; again, all this was happening with no checks from staff. Lastly, the baby change area was absolutely filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I only ended up changing one of my twins because I couldn't bear to be in there with them. There was also the strongest, most toxic air freshener being sprayed in an area intended for babies which, as most people know, has huge health implications for people, especially babies. I also found the interactive room to have very bizarre choices for children.

It's safe to say, we won't be returning. I've mentioned this to most of my friends with children because my babies now have a stomach bug, since visiting this...

Brilliant soft play centre. The under 4s but was lovely, lots of imaginative play opportunities though not as much physical as other places. For older children the soft play structure is fun. There are electric cars to drive around a track at additional cost. We also did the climbing for our 5 year old and they enjoyed it very much. The lockers were a bit complicated at first, though it was great to pay by card for them. The cafe was very busy throughout the visit. We were eating with children with allergies. I'd seen that the venue will not permit food to be brought in from outside even with allergies. So we ate in. The server said that because they were so busy, they'd been using both fryers and so both were contaminated with all allergens. Fortunately for the children this level of potential cross contamination was acceptable but I know others this will be a problem so just to keep in mind the website isn't as accurate as reality. Also just an observation... There are child sized toilets, sinks, high chairs, plastic cups, plastic plates but only massive adult sized cutlery! Watching my 2 year old try to eat peas with it was interesting! Would it be possible for some child sized cutlery? Or tea spoons rather than those wooden stirrers for hot drinks at least the little ones could use a tea spoon for tricky things like...
