Tasty food, great pub treats but a lack of ambience and customer service lead to this three star review. This particular location is well positioned in the centre of Southampton and serves a delicious range of pub treats and rinks, subject to availability. On the other hand, the pub is very dark and isn’t welcoming and the ambience is very dull, the toilets are often messy too. On top of this, I found that the standard of customer service in this pub is lacking and staff aren’t always interested in providing fresh, quality food and excellent service. The review is balanced as ultimately if you want some food without the fuss or a drink, it’s perfect but for a slightly higher standard eating out experience, this location doesn’t make the cut. The value for money used to be amazing however some of the dishes don’t offer good value for money anymore. I would return but ideally at a quieter time when staff have a better ability at caring for the customers and providing better food and service. In the picture is the burger and chips deal with a drink, the chips were delicious but the size of the burger was fairly small. Food tasted lovely though.

Wow this place is busy but still managed to find a seat towards the back of the pub. A lot of the seats are tall chairs that are great for drinking not so good for food. The app is brilliant click click Apple Pay pints and food on table. Food is what you expect no a la carte but just honest mass produced pub grub filling and cheap There are so many places to eat in Southampton if Wetherspoons is not your cup of tea or cheap pint. If you want cheap booze and ok food with out breaking the bank then Wetherspoons is your place Staff are the high point, efficient, friendly and work so hard delivering food and drinks

At The Standing Order in Southampton, we indulged in not just the quintessential British dish of fish and chips but also ventured into a delightful bowl of ramen and a flavorful Madras beef curry served with rice. Each dish was satisfying, with a unique mix of flavors that reflected the diverse offerings of this establishment. Of course, the experience wouldn’t have been complete without a beer in hand, perfectly complementing the meal. What stood out the most, beyond the food, was the warm and inviting community vibe, making it the kind of place you’d love to return to.

Personal preference and just a opinion! Alright place for your standard chain pub. Cheap cheerful, staff friendly, full pub with a busy chatty atmosphere, comfortable but everything was sticky from the menus to the tables and chairs, the half washed glass wear, food tasted okay but wasnt anything specialand like most places deep fried or microwaved. I get that you get what you pay for in places like this and like I said the staff were friendly but when I asked about wines the gent on the bar had no clue at all about a simple drinks question. But not his fault maybe just a little extra training from the company wouldnt go a miss, given the hundreds + of people in and out each day given location and the revenue they must take especially given they are a massive chain. I don't think enough staff were on that day, but I understand that there can be unreliable staff or emergencies happen. All in all I'd still go back and if your looking for a cheap drink or meal out and you don't mind a busy town pub with authentic people to talk to then you...

I don’t really know what to say after last night . My son in law was removed from the premises, accused of being drunk and of taking drugs .All with no proof. He had had 3 pints went to the bar to order another , had a conversation with the bartender about the noise level and the next thing he knew he was asked to leave and accused by management of the above . To say this is a disgrace is beyond words , he hates taking pain relief let alone recreational drugs . Suggest management go outside and throw out those that are smoking it and deal with them before you pick on innocent individuals. To the manager you had no proof he was drunk which he wasn’t. You had no proof about the drug taking , which he wasn’t. He never used foul language to anyone, but you seemed fit to have him removed. I worked in the pub business for many years and pride myself on the job I did as regard customer relations . You haven’t got a clue and you are a disgrace to the industry as are the lying staff that made up these false...
