I first visited Ba'bursi over 2 years ago when it was situated on East Lancs Road with family and friends and went on several occasions. We always had a warm welcome from Imran and his family. The food on every visit was superb, full of spices and wonderful authentic flavours, always using fresh ingredients cooked in an open kitchen where you could see your food being prepared. In my opinion Ba'bursi was the best Indian Restaurant I had ever ate in and was disappointed to see that it had closed it's doors. Just by chance someone had mentioned that Ba'bursi had opened in St. Helens 18 months ago, so booked a table on 8th April. We were really looking forward to seeing and eating at our favourite Indian restaurant. We were not disappointed, as always we had a really warm welcome from Imran and his brothers. The restaurant is bigger but has not lost its lovely atmosphere, and being a Sunday was quite full. We were shown to our table and given the menu, which was very varied with a great variety of wonderful mouthwatering dishes. Imran or the waiters are always there to explain the dishes and advise you on your choice, if you are not quite sure what to choose to suit your taste. Again we were not disappointed in our meals, full of flavour, spices and fresh ingredients and cooked in the big open kitchen. We left very full and happy knowing that our favourite Indian restaurant is open for business again and would definitely recommend it to everyone who likes authentic Indian food. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. To Imran and family I wish you all the success...

I'm a self confessed Curry-holic...... See my review's.

The setting is very good and clearly staff are conscious of the current pandemic.

The dishes I tend to order are usually on the flavoursome/ spicy side.

Starting with poppadoms and the selection of accompanying condiments, these were flavoursome and a good balance between sweet, savoury, cooling and heat. The chilli dip is first class and highly recommended.

The Keema naan bread with Garlic and Coriander was tasty and freshly cooked. The filling well distributed and each bite had some coriander though garlic was not overly used.

Chicken Lahori was very tasty, plenty of flavour and heat, not one for the Korma lovers but it's well presented and layers of flavour. Some separation leaving oil during transit but easily removed.

Chicken Pathia is very good and chef has obviously got knowledge, balancing the tamarind, sweet contrasting with sourness and heat. Again some separation leaving oil during transit but easily removed.

Garlic Chilli Chicken layers and depth of heat and flavours were delightful, freshly cooked with a good balance. Again some separation leaving oil during transit but easily removed.

Overall catering for large amounts of people is difficult, yes chicken and curry base/sauce has to be done but these guy's are very proficient and the end results speak for themselves!

Well presented and very tasty food, come and support your local...

Absolutely appalled by this place! We have been here multiples times and it's always been amazing, until we went in December after doing Christmas shopping. Me and my boyfriend went for date night, I ordered the butter chicken, and my boyfriend had lamb if I remember rightly. I hadn't eaten all day, so was looking forward to our meal. It came, and I tasted it, it tasted really weird. My boyfriend had a mouthful and said it tasted okay, so presumed it was me. I couldn't of been more wrong. I contracted Campylobacter. (Food poisoning) I was ill for a good few weeks.

BUT.. all of this is bad in itself, but I was more horrified by the reaction from the restaurant!!! I phoned them up and explained, I hadn't eaten anywhere else and I was pretty much going down hill about 2 hours after visiting their restaurant. They asked me when I visited etc, and I was told that it couldn't possibly be the chicken, and if anything they expected people to complain about the Lamb! And as a result of me getting sick they would send me a takeaway. No, I do not want a takeaway from you, I don't want anything now you have explained that the lamb could also be giving people food poisoning. Shocked to say the least, and I can assure you I will NEVER eat here again. Which is a shame really because every other time we have been we have always highly rated it, and recommend it to others. We also have had family...

Went here with my boss and his friends Never had Indian food before The food was incredible ,the taste ,the flavour unreal Had chicken tikka masala starter and chicken madras for the main and poppadoms with various dips while we waited , the mango chutney was my favourite Really really good food, and would recommend to anyone Chicken was literally melt in the mouth. The madras was hot ,not too hot but perfect balance of flavour and spices and like I said never had Indian food before The service also was excellent, every member of staff made sure they looked after you and a good rapport with you. Atmosphere was also excellent ,the place was absolutely full from arrival until we left ,and had to wait a very minimal time before we were seated given it was a weekend and extremely busy Very very well run restaurant. I never knew this place was there ,but now I know would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone who hasn't been to give it a try ,you won't be disappointed To all staff on the restaurant floor ,very well done and thank you And to the chefs the food was incredible Not my first choice of food before but now I've been it will be . Thank you ba'bursi From.. Table for four booked for 7.30 for Joe Seated at the top of the stairs ,first table on the right.

Quiet and unassuming on the outside, with vegetarian and vegan options in abundance!!! After a sullen 10 days exploring dull St Helens I can reassure all that no restaurant in town - of any cuisine - can match! Certainly not on every single visit!! Don’t miss the side dishes on the menu! Okra, chickpea, spinach, lentil curries all for £3.50! 🥰
