Thank you for visiting us and looking forward to seeing you again soon 🤗@Jenny @limassolrestaurant 📍 St Helens Invite If you love Cypriot and Greek food this place is a must visit! @limassolrestaurant has been open for over 30 years and you can tell why. The restaurant has a traditional decor and makes your feel like you are on holiday. All their food is prepared freshly each day. All the meats are cut on the premises and marinated for several hours before servicing What did we order - Starters - Mixed cold starter Perfect to share, taramasalata, tzatziki, potato salad, beetroot salad, Houmous , feta cheese, olives, tomato and cucumber. Keftedes - homemade meatballs Mains - Moussaka - Greece’s most popular dish, Limassol own version is with layered potato, courgette, aubergine, mincemeat and oven baked bechamel topping Chicken kebab- marinated cubes of chicken fillet served with season salad. Kleftiko - a classic slow cooked lamb dish on the bone with wine, celery, onions and tomato sauce

Took the family here as a celebration meal following my Graduation. The restaurant isn't overcrowded and the atmosphere is very family friendly. The staff were very kind and friendly, taking time to talk to everyone in the party, including the children. Service was prompt, and enough time was left between courses to digest the previous. The food was good, and made everyone on the party reminiscent of memories relating to my wedding in Rhodes. Portion sizes where plentiful, as my partner and I tried the meat sharing plater, which defeated us, as we where unable to finish it, due to being stuffed. Only negative points are that it's located on the 1st floor, so wheel chairs and pushchairs would find it difficult to get in. Had a really good evening, good value for money restaurant, we are already planning our next visit.

Traditional Greek food served by very friendly staff,, been my go to greek restaurant for over 10 years, there is a great early bird menu offer and the fish to share and kleftico are excellent choices as is the moussaka, loukanika sausage and sardines are great starters, fresh warm bread and pitta incuded, chips are old school giant thick cut deep fried , no oven chips here, the rice is always perfect as both come with all mains, , a lot would say the decor is dated but i would say ot just adds to the charm of the place , always lovely and clean never had a bad meal and will be enjoying for many years to come

Having been here before, we decided to go again as they have a vegetarian section albeit a small one but as two of use are vegetarians it is easier with a specific section to choose from. I chose the vegetarian mousakka and verified it was cheese free and vegetarian as I always do wherever I go as some places do add cheese when you wouldn’t expect and I explained this, when our meals arrived I took a bite and quickly realised that it was meat, I spit it into my napkin. My party said surely not as you verified it was meat free. I called over the waitress who agreed it was the meat version. She abruptly stated ‘ I will get you another one!’ No apology and the manager then proceeded to avoid our gaze until bringing the correct dish when he basically said sorry and shrugged his shoulder. When we received our bill he offered the males a free drink we declined as that wasn’t the purpose of our dismay. My sister who is in management said it was a pretty poor show that he had even put the meal on the bill and he quickly said he would deduct £12 ! Our whole problem here is how the situation was handled as I choose not to eat meat and it IS a big deal to me. (What if it where an allergy issue?) We will not return and my review is for extremely poor judgement and management of an awful customer service experience when handling the situation. Never take for granted that you have received what you asked...

Greektastic Came here of an evening with my wife and in laws. Although the decour is dated, the service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a meat sharing platter for two and a fish sharing platter for two and shared the whole lot between the four of us.

To start with they served the standard taramasalats, hummous, yoghurt dip, beetroot, tahini dip, a potato dish, olives and warm bread. I was extremely surprised and pleased to find the flavours way above standard however. The tahini dip had a lovely Smokey flavour, the taramasalata was lovely and creamy whilst the beetroot was very fresh tasting and had a lovely flavour of dill running through it. All of these dishes were great and those that followed were equally tasty.

Overall, there was ample food and the value was great. Amongst all the fish dishes there was a whole sea bass! The lamb also stood out as being excellent.

Would...

I was asked to give a review, apologies but I am going to be completely honest here.

The beef soup I had was the best thing, very good, everything about it was perfect.

Moussaka is nice, lightly favored, not too oily or salty which is more suited to my personal taste, looks home-cooked style, but it’s a bit bland half way through, it could be more special. Most importantly, for the price I would expect the salad dressing that looks more like proper restaurant quality salad dressing rather than one that looks like McDonald’s side.

Seafood soup was not so nice, seafood tasted frozen.

Another main meal was the red wine beef stew, as much as we wanted to, we couldn’t appreciate it unfortunately, red wine tasted overwhelming, the bitterness was brought out, and it made the extremely lean beef even tougher than usual.

Rice was good value. Nice and big...
